If he's stay at home full time, he could try to make a little money blogging and using a service called google adsense. This is in part what I do, thought I can attest it is certainly no get rich quick scheme: you have to put in the time and the devotion to it.

Also, i'm with you on the survey sites and all that, it's just bad news.

Has he considered becoming a book reviewer? If he had read a couple of books a week, he could probably make a decent living. If he is so inclined he could perhaps also work as an editor.
