What are ways to bet against the market?

Question

For example, say I think the US will hit a deep recession, what are ways I can gain from that outcome?

Do I currency trade? Do something with bonds?

PS I'm 18 and don't even have 5 figures.

you are 18, you don't have experience in the market...take this time to learn about different ways of investing, sign up for free investment newsletters, , don't currency trade...too risky, Bonds?? understand them and there relationship to the economy.

This is a dangerous time to start investing if you haven't done it before.
