Wheel or Brakehorsepower, but, hopefully upgrades noticeable on a dyno. As much as possible, reasonably priced please =D

The car is a 1995 Subaru BG Legacy , i think its SOHC.

No need for tips with suspension and tires, its off the checklist .

Thanks to all who reply!

  1. Headers and a good free flowing exhaust is a good way to go. High energy ignition and reprogramming the on board computer will also help.

  2. the most bang for the buck would be to reprogram the computer.  it usually costs around $300 or so and it will let you get the most out of your engine and it will make the most out of any other stuff you put on. reprogramming alone can give you 50hp or more usually.  the next biggest bang for your buck would be a better camshaft that can give you up to 50hp or more.  some cheap stuff you can do is a performance air filter, can give you as much as 15hp and a performance muffler can give you about 15hp.  other than that, you can get an intake and bigger throttle body which could give you another 20hp or so, and then headers and a high flow catalytic converter could give you another 25hp or more.  the thing you got to remember is that it all works together, so the more things you do to it will improve all the other things you add.  basically you want to get as much air and fuel into and then out of your engine as fast as possible to make the most power.  if your doing it step by step then here is the order i would do it in 1. intake ($100)and air filter($40), 2. Muffler ($50-$100)3.reprogram computer ($300), 4. throttle body ($200)5. camshaft ($200)6. Bigger fuel injectors ($150)7. headers ($300)8. Catalytic converter and rest of exhaust ($400).  all these prices are my best guess and do not include installation.  this is the sequence that will most likely give you the best performance for each step.  these are all bolt on parts that together will probably give you an extra 150 Wheel Horsepower or more.  these are also things you could probably do yourself except for maybe the camshaft and headers depending on how easy they are to access.  this is probably the most power you can get without any major internal engine work or power adders.  or if you just want a cheap burst of extra power then i would suggest nitrous.  Good Luck to you.

  3. um look for bolt ons such as intakes, headers, and stuff like that...    also some car let you get the ecu upgrade and get you more hp and tq.   just look around         http://www.andysautosport.com/

  4. It looks like you feel really screwed up by this problem. Hope you may found helpful here.http://car-price.bestips.info/free-price...
