Okay so I'm doing this assignent for drivers ed and I need help!
Here's the assignment...
Overview
Despite the effort that has gone into making signs and markings easy to read, there is always room for improvement. As you gain experience as a driver, you may begin to see things that could be done better, made clearer, or put in a better location.
Assignment
Do you find certain kinds of signs, traffic signals, pavement markings, or highway signs confusing? If so, what would you do to improve them? Choose ten different signs/markings and make them easier to read. How would you change some of the following items:
- shape
- size
- color
- location
- symbols
- lettering
- numbering
- timing
- how often they appear
Create a chart with the original sign on one side and your improvement on the other. Give an explanation as to WHY your changes are better or more needed.
Questions
When completing this assignment, you may want to consider the following questions in your responses:
1) What do you think was the reasoning for making the signs/markings in the manner they appear?
2) What signs tend to be ignored and which ones are usually followed well?
3) What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of pavement markings?
4) Do you think it's necessary to have fewer signs or more signs? Why?
5) How are signs in foreign countries different (you can find these on the internet)?
