What are ways to keep my 20/20 vision?

My dad always used to say not to watch TV in the dark when I was little.

I want to become a pilot in the future and I would like to maintain my perfect eyesight.

  1. There's really no way for you to protect your vision to make sure it remains 20/20.  We're predisposed to certain things especially way later in life as we age.  In this day and age, everyone pretty much eats a good diet and that is important for good health in general.  As far as the old wives tales about not reading in the dark and stuff like that, that's what they are, just old wives tales.  No proof of that.

    Oh!  And be sure to wear sunglasses when out in the sun to protect your eyes.  That IS something that is important and something you can have control over so as not to damage them.  And, there are the obvious things like, wear goggles when working on machinery so that nothing gets into your eyes and scratches them.


  2. age always catches up. I'm 47 now ,and for the past few years my eye sight has diminished . so try not to read to much, eye strain/ were sun glasses,eye protection. give your eyes time outs =+-

  3. Yes, definitely. Never strain your eyes. That includes when you're watching TV and on the computer. Always make sure you're surrounded by light when you're trying to look at something. Eat carrots, I heard baby carotene helps your eyesight.

  4. hi, well im a medical student and i can tell you that i have that worry too, and i find a solution to kkep my 20/20 vision , i can give you 3 simple tips:

    first when you see tv or computer , you must have another source of light not justthe computer, maybe a lamp or something like that , this will help you yoo not stress you vission just localized in the computer.

    then you have to rest your eyes at least every 20 minutes, you can just close your eyes for about 20 seconds and then yo can continue using your computer or watching tv without forcing your eyes

    and well about vitamins well vitamin A can help you to give more some carotens, this will help you too, you can find this vitamins in some vegetables like carrots.
