What are we? A simple question about the nature of man?

Are we as human being selfish by nature? or are we benevolent to heart? Are we directed by impulses or reason? How do we look at acts of kindness and judge acts of evil?

  1. We are all of those things that you mentioned.

    However, to me, our basic tendency is toward inclusion, benevolence and reason over pure emotion.

    We tend to want to meander within that track, but are occasionally derailed by environmental and/or biological dysfunctions.
