Good question!

If you look at a certain organism that dominates it's habitat until it consumes it's host, you may find similarities between bacteria & humans.

We are probably somewhere on the totem pole between paramesia & bacteria in our current stage of growth, with the exception of a few people, like Mother Teresa, Ghandi, & Jesus (who's in a class all by himself.)

Why we are here is an even bigger mystery. The power that created us must have a purpose for us, so what that is, is likely to be found in something He is said to have written. I would suggest to start looking there. (for Christians, it's the Bible......)
