Also, if I have a lot of dock, plantain, dandelion etc. in my lawn, will a dandelion puller (old=fashioned long handled tool) work on the dock as well?

  1. Nothing against any of the users on this site but I always see the answer of using soapy water as an organic alternitive.  But it is not organic.  The active ingredient in soaps is TRICLOSAN which is a CHEMICAL making the soap not organic.  It could possibly be powdery mildew, if that is the case you can simply soak the trunk with the hose.  If that doesn't do it you will need to use a fungicide.

About the weeds, you are never going to get the roots if you pull them and they will just come back.  Spray them with Ortho Weed B Gone max and then pull them once they are dead.

  2. some maple tree trunks have white dots natually, other then that they are scale insects and a fill a spray bottle with soap and water and spray the spots
