What are white women doing differently

I have noticed where I live a lot of white women having wedding rings on, but most black women don't. Why do white women get married so fast and more often?

I noticed that most white girls get married before they have their kids.

While black women end up pregnant before they get married, then this causes problems with dating since a child interferes and stuff. So they end up getting married later in life or not at all. Not saying this is always the case but this is what I see a lot of.

~~Maybe there is a cultural difference. I don't know, but it's sad. Every child needs to have both parents in their life and deserve as much. I'm sure your mom never intended for him to walk out, and believe me-marraige is no guarantee either, however it does give the women more rights and slightly more security. However, I don't know what took place in their lives, but I can tell you-your dad made a sad choice by missing out on sharing the "joy of you". Who knows what made him this type of person. He will live to regret this and it'll hurt him deep  inside for the rest of his life. You however, already understand the importance of marriage, family, and being a good parent-so your kids will never suffer and you will change the course for your family forever!

You cannot always know if someone is married just because they are wearing a ring on their left ring finger. My husband and I exchanged rings at our wedding ceremony 10 years ago and still have them in a safe place.  However neither one of us wears ANY jewelry so we don't wear them.  I have noticed people remove their rings when performing certain jobs (housework, gardening, etc).  

I think it is true that more white women are married than black women because of trends in black society.  More black men are unemployed, on drugs, or in prison.  It has become normal for black men to go from one woman to the next without making a lifetime commitment and many black women are willing to accept this arrangement.

What white women are doing differently is two-fold.  More of them are raising their sons with better male role models who illustrate the husband-wife relationship and these same women have higher expectations for their husbands.

Hang in there.  If you maintain high standards, you will attract a man worthy of you.

I agree that this is not at all an easy question to answer since there are MANY answers.  HOWEVER - don't make your assumption based on how many wedding rings you see.  I have many white female friends who are single but work in sales or marketing, areas where they often have to deal with rich perverted men who think they are entitled and my friends wear wedding rings to try to avoid being hit on.  My husband and I are happily married and he doesn't wear his wedding ring because he works in a job where it could potentially be dangerous and get caught on something.

Black women are used to having to fight their way in the world.  We're generally willing to put up with a lot less c**p. That can feel like an extreme for some men, who prefer a more docile woman.    The other thing is that men seem to place a big emphasis on having a woman that other men will admire, and unfortunately, the standard of beauty in N. America is a white (preferably blond) woman.

well raven, there is actual empirical proof on the subject, sorry.  CNN just did there Black in America piece that discussed this very issue.  sorry you missed it.  some of the answers youve gotten were brought up.  there is no easy answer.  its cultural...and seems to be brought on by both male and females!
