Xanax is a sedative to treat social anxiety disorders mostly.

Lortab is a strong narcotic painkiller.

Don't abuse them, please. It only makes people who really need them unable to obtain them.

Xanax is used to treat anxiety as well as other things as determined by your physician.  It's from the same family of drugs as Valium, Diazapams, however, Xanax is shorter acting than Valium.  Lortab is Hydrocodone and Acetominiphen (Tylenol).  It is a painkiller, which can be extemely addictive if abused.  That being said, Hydrocodone is not Oxycodone and therefore not regulate as tightly.  Used as needed, addiction rates are low.  Abused, it can be a nightmare.

usually they would come in .25, .5 and 1 mgs

but xanax bars is a larger pill of 2mg usually divided into 4 .5 doses.

Lortab/Vicodin(hydrocodone) is an opiate which is usually for pain.
