  1. Women do not need to cover their head at the Vatican. For men & women the shoulders and knees must be completely covered. No shorts or short skirts. Your navel should be covered as well. Open toed shoes are fine. You are entering a place of worship so be respectful.

  2. Just about anythink, you can go just like how you came to this world if you want it too.

  3. From what i remember, women (and men) should keep their shoulders and legs covered. no short/strappy tops n short skirts etc. If wearing a vest type top before u go in, like i was, just take a light shirt or wrap 2 wear over it while you are inside. i think guys are ok with 3/4 length type shorts/trousers, and normal short-sleeved t-shirts as opposed to sleeveless vests! just be respectfully covered!! Enjoy! its beautiful!

  4. Rome can get hot that time of year.  Be sure to bring a change of clothes, as after you leave the Vatican you'll probably want something lighter to wear if you're going to walk around the city.

  5. Anything, but in churches and museums take off your hat and don't go in shorts and a tank top.

  6. it's a holly place, and it's to be respected, so u must wear normal cloths, not mini skirts and very short sleeves shirts but more respectable.

  7. All churches in Rome have a dress code.  It is as follows:

No Shoulders (no tanks, tube tops, no topless men, cap sleeves are iffy)

No Knees (Shorts are acceptable, especially on men, but they must fall below or to the knee.  Skirts are fine)

No Chest or Stomach(This means no low cut tops or short tops)

St. Peter's enforces this the most as they actually have 2 security guards checking as you enter, but you'll want to be respectful and apply this style of dress to any church visits.  I wore linen capri pants and a tank top, but tied a track jacket around my waist.  I would put it on anytime we entered a church.

  8. The site below has some useful information about dress code for the Vatican.

    It is worth the visit.

  9. Women should cover their head.  You can't wear shorts or sleeveless shirts.

I believe you can still take pictures in the Louvre.  But if you're thinking of taking pictures of pictures, you'll get a better shot by buying a copy in the gift shop.

    Bon voyage!
