  1. Green wise is more of a consumer movement, watch out for "multinational corporations" calming to be "going green" or claim they are "green".

When it comes to consumerism There are just a few rules you can follow and I'm sure there are even more, but here are the basics. Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in that order. Then Always buy local within a 500 mile limit if you can and choose local even over organic that probably came from countries where "organic standards" can't always be verified.

Then lastly the "green movement" is  also blending with the sustainable movement that really promotes community support of buying local and using farmer markets etc. But sustainability goes a step further and incorporates your housing choice, what materials are used to make furniture and your over all daily habits.

  2. -Our entire family goes to our grandparents' farm and take straight from the ground the vegetables we cultivated by ourselves... They are delicious and very healthy with all of the good we used to take care of them with not a drop of insecticides or any kind of drugs...

-Grandma's fresh bakes are soooo delicious also!

-And, all of us separate plastics, glasses, papers, etc, for the garbage ready to pick up...

-We also use safe electricity bulbs to conserve energy...

  3. Wasn't aware wisdom came in colors...

I look at who stands to profit from green movements, then invest in those companies....did pretty well with a certain solar company last year....

I implement those practices that reduce my expenses...which aren't many as of yet.  Currently I'm limited to trying to waste less.  I buy everything used, which reduces landfill usage.  I check the tire pressure on my car weekly.  It takes nothing to do, and can improve your fuel efficiency/tire life.  I try to get all of my shopping done in one trip a week.  If their are cheaper alternatives than green, it won't catch on with the majority of people.

Once I find the right property outside of town, it's my goal to build a house that's as self-sufficient as possible.  It will have a greenhouse, a rabbit hutch, a worm bed, either wind-generated or water-generated power (currently more reliable than solar technology, but that's changing), and a workshop to build wooden furniture and toys.

I'm getting off of the grid.

is that wise enough for you?
