I saw the signs over a year ago and have worked hard to pay off all debt and economize....plan must have worked as I am not having any problem now...only one credit card left to pay off and it has a small balance...I now pay cash for everything and only use credit when I know I can pay the bill in full when it comes in...I am now increasing investments as a down market is ripe with great possibilities...all the money that used to go to credit payments is now going to savings and investments.

I now cook at home instead of going out to eat...I shop around (generally via internet) to get best price before making a purchase...shop a lot at 99cent store (great for cleaning supplies and such)...consolidate all my errands into one trip which coincides with my travel to or from work...have found a night at home with friends to be more enjoyable than an expensive night at the clubs.

Lots of ways to cut down without losing quality of life.

please dont buy stuff if you really dont need it, dont go to mall too often, eat in home, go to nearest places for fun so you can not drive to much and save gas, stay home, read, play, read good book,

get your own produce like a garden, chickens, by every thing in bulk, make your clothes (material is cheep). Look in to a HHO (hydrogen flue system) not the cars there are systems you can put on your car/truck/any thing. Start generating your own power.

Shopping around for cheaper insurance.

Cutting out the home phone as an redundancy.

Staying home and watching DVD's instead of going to the movies.

whenever im going out with someone out to the movies or out to lunch, i always conveniently 'forget' my wallet. i know its awful, but i really need that money for other things and its rude to decline an invitation out somewhere.

plus guys are always happy to foot the bill. if it makes them happy, why deny them the pleasure? thats my mentality about it.
