  1. don't go buy yourself toilet paper. i suggest you use some leaves OUTSIDE of the store. its free.

  2. ~~I saved the most because we changed our eating habits after being on Nutri-System. I only buy around the perimeter of the store, so fresh meat and fish, vegetables, fruit, and whole grain cereal, Absolutely no pre-packaged foods anymore. My bill has dropped about $30.00 and this is while food costs have increased so rapidly. We eat great, feel better, save money, and maintain the new weight we are at now!~~

  3. I prefer to cook and try and buy lots of ingredients which will last a long time in order to make a variety of meals regularly. By this, I mean avoiding prepacked food which I personally think is way over priced.

When checking the price of a product I usually notice I could get the necessary ingredients separately and make the same meal many times over for less.

I also have a store loyalty card to earn points on each item purchased. Although few, these points still add up to decent sum redeemable for instore rewards. Don't rule out the easy savings just because they're small.

  4. go to daddyodeals.com you can print lots of coupons

  5. Mostly staying out of it!  I am the kind of person who often purchases on impulse or if something seems to be a "good deal."  I am trying to confine my shopping trips to once a week, when I have kept a running list all week for things I really need.  Then it helps to bring your list and follow it methodically, to get in and out of the store without a lot of looking at other items.

  6. Hi there. I started looking at the coupons that are coming in the mail. They get better as the economy gets worse. There was a coupon for a loaf of free bread last week.

I am also buying foods that make ALOT of food.

    Some examples:

    Spegetti

    Chili

    Cassoroles

    Pastas

I will make them at night and then save the left overs for my lunch for the next day. It works out good for me.

If I find good sales on meat, I stock up. I usually buy the bags of frozen chicken and the frozen veggies (alot of the time they are only $1 a piece).

I started buying any snacks and cereal at Big Lots because they are way cheaper than the grocery store.

I will buy a case of water & a couple gallons. When I am done with the bottles I will refill them with the gallon.

I cut out buying cheese unless I need it for a meal Im making. I am making my iced tea and coffee at home instead of buying from starbucks.

Well, that is all I can think of right now. Hope that helps.

  7. 1)  Coupons

    2)  Don't buy prepared food

    3)  Cut down on soda, drink more (tap) water with meals

  8. That’s actually the one place that I don’t let money dictate my choices. I think nutrition is too important to buy just what’s on sale or what coupons I have. I’ll always choose fresh, nutritional food over saving money.
