  1. I was using my scooter until it threw my on the road and I broke my leg. Now the money I'm saving from gas will go to Dr's bills.

  2. I got rid of my car all together and started taking mass transit, by doing this I am saving about $700 a month between car payment gas and insurence. just remember as individuals we can do nothing, but in mass numbers we can make consumer retaliation work. we have the internet lets make it work to our advantage, and get the word out. remember Consumer Retaliation.

  3. I am simply making my car more fuel efficient. I removed any extra gear or objects in my car to reduce the weight of my car. I even took out the spare tire because I can just call roadside assistance. I also got around 40% better mileage by replacing my cars dirty air filter and by putting racing grade spark plugs in my car. 4. I cut way back on my Jamba Juice trips.

I switched to generic items like garbage bags, hot sauce, napkins, and laundry soap.

More online shopping...especially if they offer free shipping.  Coupon codes can be found at www.flamingoworld.com .

We're cooking more meals at home.  When we do go out, it's to places like In-N-Out Burger, Chipotle, or a pizza place.

No more separate trips to the bank, dry cleaners, Target, etc.  I wait for the errands to pile up and do them all at once.

My husband has started carpooling with a guy from work.  I just hope this works out.  The guy is cheaper than a $2 hooker, and he'll start coming up with excuses for my husband to drive when it's his turn.

  5. There are a lot of free easy ways to save gas. Check out www.issuesof08.blogspot.com. They have a lot of tips.

  6. While I feel for others.......... I'm not really affected by the gas prices. I guess i'm might be budgeting correctly.

  7. I'm making my own alternative fuel or switching to natural gas or building cars with better mpg or not wasting it in tanks and bombers or ...AHHHHHHH

  8. i teleport

  9. I couldn't agree more - money saved is money earned and it's pointless to waste our income on... gasp... gasoline!?!?!  There are way better things to spend money on, like beer.

I ride a bicycle to work each day. At 16 miles/day that would be roughly $4.00 per day for gas- an average of 20 work days a month -so there's $80.00 right there saved. Throw in parking @ $120/mo. and insurance another $120/mo. and really I am saving $320 per month... oh wait - if I drove a car, I'd need another car in the family so... a car payment of $240 per month - now that's roughly $560.00 saved per month!!!

No Gym membership is needed - I ride instead - so not only do I save time and gas getting to the gym - that's another $50.

Total savings: $610.00/per month - that's just money in my pocket. These are averages of course - gas could be more expensive, I might eat more food, etc. but I think it's pretty close.

  11. My husband and I found reasonably priced commuter bicycles, which we outfitted with saddlebags and panniers to carry our stuff to and from work.  We bike in most days and get our exercise knocked out at the same time.   We also helped pass a local ballot measure to raise our sales tax in support of expanded bus service in our area so that we can use the bus as well.  Finally, we consolidate our car trips as much as possible.  We are going to the gas station a lot less now.

  12. I got my motorcycle license when I saw that gas was headed to $3.00/gallon.

*My 600cc FZ6 (R6 engine) gets 47 mpg. in rush hour traffic.

*My 650cc Star Classic gets 52 mpg. in rush hour traffic.

The SUV (Isuzu Rodeo, 6 cylinder) stays home and it gets about $25.00 per week to shuttle the kids around totheir activities and to gorcery shop (normally after the "shuttle" excursions).

*If we go beyond the $25.00 during the week, we just don't go anywhere until the beginning of the following week.

*It only rains here about two months per year, so I save $tons$, plus, it's way green (serious emission standards for California purchased motos ...).

    (;=]
