  1. World Vision already has hundreds of people on the ground in Myanmar -- and the distribution system already in place.

I gave them money today for Myanmar.

I've supported two kids through WV for more than a year.

  2. FYI you can't really do anything for them.  The government is not letting anyone in to help.

  3. Nothing you do will help at this time.  The militant government in Myanmar are preventing almost all foreign aid and have been for the past 40 years.

As of yesterday the UN had dropped thousands of tons of food in Myanmar but the government refused to let it get distributed. Its currently just sitting there on the tarmac, helping no one.

  4. now I am doing nothing:    why lie, I may not do anything, or I may

  5. The International Red Cross is a good place to start.  United Nations Relief Fund would be good also.

Even if their government won't accept aid from the U.S., it may accept supplies from other nations.  So supplies may come from other countries, which then may need to rely on the Red Cross more themselves.

You can always go and give blood - help out locally even if you can't help Myanmar directly.
