I conserve energy by participating in this organization called Earth Hour. We have to turn off all our lights on March 29 for one hour from 8:00 to 9:00.

went out for a hike built a winter shelter made a fire and cooked hot dogs while enjoying nature and yes had the lights out for the hour

We have been for several months only using artificial lighting as necessary and we do not run our AC or heater. We have a wood burning fireplace and redistribute the ashes back into our garden for fertilizer.

I open up my windows and use the light from outside and the breeze to cool the house instead of the fans.
