  1. i am with single mommy on that. i work and pay my own bills.

  2. I do all the paying and bill covering and he gives me all his check except $60 to cover everything.  But I also stay at home, so i have time to do it all.

  3. i get all the money he makes and make sure i pay for everything we need and when there is some money left he keeps most of it cause he is the only one working...if i let him in charge we would be ruined for sure

  4. I am in charge of all finances. Even when my husband was working fulltime he was given $900 a week for his expenses at work and the other finances were mine to deal with.

  5. Ha... My husband makes most of the money ( I only work part time ) and then we put everything into a bank account.

I am pretty much ruler of the finances, which means I say when to pay the bills, how much we can spend on groceries or extra stuff...

So, he makes the money.. and I disperse it. I usually let him have some of his cash for the week so he can get stuff here and there with out running it by me.

It sounds kind of like I'm a dictator and mean.. but this is how HE wants it to be :)

  6. I'm in charge of additions to our home decor, our pets and their toys, food, bedding, groceries, my beauty routine ie hair, cosmetics, all vacations and vacation apparel/clothing, packing/luggage, eating out, ordering out, wine/beer, electronics, movies, gardening equipment, housekeeping services, furniture, appliances, home improvement.  I do  NOT have any part of paying bills for home mortgage, electricity, water, insurance or cars and maintenance.

I only make about 64K a year which is half of what my husband makes so I don't bother with the details :)

  7. All of our money goes into a joint account.  We trust each other to make responsible decisions for our family.

I handle all of the bills & balancing the checkbook.  I let him know when things are running short.

He does the grocery shopping because he totally rocks at it.  When I was shopping, I'd go out & just get it done at one store.  He reads the ads, goes to multiple stores, stocks up on sale items, etc.

Neither of us would dream of buying a large ticket item without discussing it first.

  8. Interesting question.

My husband and I make enough to support our household and have a decent amount left to save and play, however, we don't really have enough for each of us to have our own money, so I see why this is a good question.

In my situation, my husband is in charge of paying all the bills out of our joint account b/c I suck at that. I spend $$ as needed for groceries and stuff, but try to be respectful and not overspend. It works.

My girlfriend works and she doesn't make too much money. She keeps this as "her" money. She buys all groceries, her gas, and birthday gifts for friends from this money. The rest she can spend as she likes. He pays the rest of the bills.

    Hope that helps.

  9. Mine and my husband's paycheck are direct deposited. I pay all the bills. I take care of the finances in our house. He would have no clue what to do if I were gone.

  10. I handle the finances.  Both me and my husband get spending money of $140 each a month to spend on what we want to.

I handle all the bills, we split grocery shopping duties sometimes.  I run my errands on Friday after work and he frequently asks me if he can get anything for me on that day, because his Friday work days are usually short.

  11. My fiance makes all of our money and we put it in our joint bank account and we both have cards for it, I spend what I want to spend. I pay all of the bills. I work every once in a while. I have a 5 1/2 month old and I am having another baby in 4 months. I like to be home with them, but I have a job I could work more at anytime.

  12. I make all my own money.

ANd have to buy everything to take care of my son and I.

  13. My husband and I both earn money and it goes into the same account.  I used to be the one to pay all the bills (for about 13 years) but recently, I handed that job to him.

Neither of us has a set amount to spend, we just kind of spend whenever we want.  Sounds silly and frivolous, but that's what works for us.

Every once in a while I'll ask him if I can spend a particular amount if it is a little bigger than normal (I ask him because he knows what's in the account) , but other that, we pretty much just do what we want!

  14. My husband and I kep everything separate, including each mortgage (we have two property's) It's always worked this way and why change it?? I make money and so does he. As long as we have enough for the bills, why worry?

  15. My mom basically handles all of the finances because she's good with money, and she's more conservative with it. She's in banking, so money is a good match for her.

Other than that, they share finances, so neither of them "gives" the other any money. They both have equal access.

  16. No one gives me any money. My husband and I both work and we manage our finances together. We follow Dave Ramsey's plan and invest 15% for retirement before we ever touch our paycheck. We have a very nice system where I take care of most of our finances online and he pays the bills that are mailed to the house. He also pays for entertainment and groceries but we both save up for trips and bigger things. In about two weeks we'll be paying off our mortgage and then we'll be completely debt free!! It's taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice but I think it will all be worth it when we bring our first child into a debt-free household. I hope he never has to owe anyone a penny in his life.

  17. one dollar.  So I can go s***w my neighbor.
