  1. 3.20 for 30-40Ibs.  im in Connecticut

  2. I pay about 4$ per 45lb bale of timothy and $35 for a large round bale of alfalfa, it's for my goats though, it is too rich for my horses (they are mini's) ... also I am in Canada : )

  3. $3/bale for excellent quality hay.  However we help pick it out of the fields to save money.

    edit: oops, I'm from Ohio.

  4. well i get about 100 bales of alfalfa $15/bale and 200 bales of #2.$12/bale . . .

  5. $600/ton for good quality timothy.  O&A - 375/ton.  T&A $330/ton.  Alfalfa - 365/ton.   Coastal bales (50 - 60 lb) $5.00/bale.  We're in central Florida.  It's getting pretty expensive to feed horses down here.

  6. In texas you can get a 8x3x3 alfalfa square bale for $90. Straight alfalfa is $8.50 for small square bales, Coastal is $4 and Tifton 85 is $5.

Round bales will run you anywhere between $25-$35.

  7. HOLLY cow!!!

We paid $110 a ton of grass/alfalfa mix 50/50 mix.  This is from a local grower, he is at the other end of town maybe 10 miles from here.  The grass is good blade variety not steamy Bramuda c**p like in CA too.

Your paying what we paid in S. CA, and it is crazy!!!!  Of course in S. CA everything horsey related is OVER priced!  From feed to vet care.

I haven't gotten this years hay yet, but I don't think it will be too much more, but I bet it will go up a little bit.

EDIT>>>  We moved from Orange Co., CA last year and I DON'T miss it a bit.  TOO over priced.  Heck we paid $16K in property taxes there on a 5 acre ranch.  Here we have 160 acres and its only $298 for property taxes!!!  CA is too over rated, and populated....LOL

We are living the good life 2 miles into BLM with almost 5 million acres of forestry, BLM and wilderness right here...we can ride on it right off our ranch.  The nearest neighbor is 2.5 miles away...

  8. Western Washington it is about $16.00- $20.00 for a 100 pound bale of orchard hay more for timothy and about $19.00 for Alfalfa

  9. $13 a bale for alfalfa hay and $11 for grass hay, im in arizona

  10. i pay $1 a bale. i live in ohio. the bales probably weigh 70 lbs. on up.

  11. $300/ton for horse-grade hay. Oregon.

  12. Good quality prairie grass= $7.00   Good quality alfalfa= $9.29  Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

  13. Im in California I go straight to the grower and I can get alfalfa for $10 a bale(100lbs), nice nice grass hay for $8 (100lbs), grain hays are about $10 (100bls).

  14. I just moved to Northern Georgia where they are charging $7 to $12 for hay...the $12 was for compressed alfalfa bales they said was certified but wouldn't show me...so I have been feeding alfalfa cubes and pellets...but I just found good timouthy/fescue hay for $6 a bale and the bales weigh between 85 and 95 pounds. I bought a years worth. And now I have someone to get good hay from. I am really thankful. He even let me see the field before he cut it. And he is going to store it for me for free as I don't have a barn big enough to store that much hay in. He gave me faith that there is still honest, good people out there. And even when his prices go up...and they will with the has prices, I will still buy from him due to his honesty and integrity.

I still am going to keep cubes and pellets in my shed though as I had just bought a pallet right before I found this guy.

  15. WOW!! The woman that I lease my horse from pays about $5.50 a bale and gets a whole bunch shipped to her. But when she ran out she had to run over to the nearest tack shop to buy a few bales for $8.50. It's always cheaper when you buy in bulk. Although I don't know how big these bales are.....I'd say they are probably around 50-70lbs.

    God bless!

Edit: Sorry I forgot to add that I'm from CT.

  16. Holy c**p Azeri? 600 a ton?? It is expensive down there.

I board my horse and I'm not sure what the barn owner is paying, they buy it in large bulk(probably several tons-it's a 55 horse boarding facility)- but I just bought some hay for a show at $12 per 50-60 lb bale of some really good quality orchard grass.

I'm right smack-dab on the border of PA, NJ, and NY.

  17. For fescue hay, $40 to $65 for a 4X5 roll or $4 to $5 for a 70lb square bale... I live in north Georgia
