and it's dark.

to tell them that you're waiting for the next light spot.

cause it's dangerous to pull over in the middle of no where.

hypothetically. i've got a driving test coming up.

  1. What you want to keep in mind is your safety and the safety of the officer making the stop.

If you're being pulled over don't pull over in the median, and if you're going to pull over try to get as far to the right and onto the shoulder as possible. This allows the cop a safe "lane" to walk in to approach you.

If you see an empty parking lot up ahead it's ok to drive slowly with your hazards on until you can pull into the parking lot. The cop will follow you and will probably assume that you're finding a safer place to be pulled over. The cop will also appreciate this, as most people don't think about the cop getting hit by cars while he's walking up to them. Try to stop under a streetlamp if possible so as to illuminate your vehicle and yourself, again, making the cop feel safe.

For additional points, turn on your interior cabin light so the cop can see inside your car and won't worry as much about whether or not you are about to shoot him/her. Also turn off your ignition so the cop won't think you are about to drive off.

Just keep in mind officer safety and you'll be fine.

  2. if there is a cop there nothing bad will happen

  3. If you are a single girl by yourself and its night time, yeah I would wait for a light spot also..nothing wrong with that. If he wants to give you lip then ask him what if it was his daughter and it was a state with unmarked police cars..like my state FL. They have every kind of vehicle out there as an unmarked police car...anyone can rig a red and blue light to their dashes. Just explain to him what you were doing and it should be fine. not sure if thats a question or not..on the test. But Im pretty sure that would be a good answer to get to a well lit area. And deff put your hazards on so the cop knows you know he is back there and that you know you are being pulled over, not just drunk or ignoring him.

  4. Put your hazards on, slow down, then call the local police department if you have the number (not 911)

  5. Slow down, put your hazards on and drive to the nearest gas station or safe place

There are alot of unmarked cars out there with people posing to be police officers

  6. As long as you don't keep going for say a few miles until you pull over in a safe well lit spot the officer should generally be understanding.

  7. Floor it baby!!!!!

  8. Slow down, flashers on, dome light on.

Be prepared to face charges for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.  The officer is aware of the surroundings, he wouldn't stop you somewhere unsafe.

    EDIT--

If you are sure enough that it's an impersonator to be ready to pay an additional fine if you're wrong, go ahead.  There is a world of difference between a guy with one red rotating light on his dashboard and the $5,000 worth of bright-as-the-sun LED lights our cars have.  Use common sense.
