What are you supposed to do when you slather a bark with honey on Pokemon Diamond?

keep waiting and at approximately 12 hours you'll see the tree is shaking, press A on the tree and get some rare pokemon that you can get only from the tree ex. munchlax, combee (and if you lucky, you can get female combee)...

All around Sinnoh, you will see trees different to the regular trees. These trees are brown. With these trees, you are capable of spreading Honey on them.

Simply go up to them and press A to spread the honey on them. This will not do anything right away, but if you come back to the tree in approximately 8 - 12 hours, a Pokémon will appear. There are a number of Pokémon that do appear on the trees, many of them exclusive to the this method, however the more common Pokémon to this method are Wurmple & Silcoon/Cascoon. This will throw a spanner in the works for finding certain Pokémon, there is also the fact that if you wait too long, the Pokémon will be gone and your sweet honey will be wasted.

Below are the Pokémon that can only be found through the Sweet Honey on trees:

Munchlax (1%)

Aipom (10%)

Burmy (10%)

Heracross (4%)

Cherubi (10%)

Combee (20%)

Silcoon (15%)

Wurmple (30%)

Male Combee won't evolve.

Go back to that tree 1-2 hours later and there will be a Pokemon eating the honey (combee, burmy, munchlax, etc.) if you need any more info go to a web site such as supercheats, or just search Google.

I know it sounds lame but...  Come back tommorow and the tree will be shaking.  Press when facing the tree and you'll usually encounter a rare pokemon!

What you do is come back later and talk (press A) on the tree and if there are any pokemon on it, you will battle the pokemon.
