  1. In the UK most courses allow under 16s in for free (although not for the Newmarket Night meetings!).

I have no objectiosn to children at the racecourse as long as they are well behaved, but I do not think it is an appropriate place for very young children (pre-school age).

I am glad that courses have now banned under 13s from the Parade Ring as that was an accident waiting to happen.

  2. Behavior of each child is the mark of whether they should be there. Alot of tracks have built nice playgrounds and picnic areas so the whole family can go together. We visit Hoosier Park frequently and they have several nights when there are special activities for the kids.

  3. I use to go with my dad all the time and watch the races... I think it ruined my life today... I use to pick the dogs or horses whichever we went to by there names then I found out about odds... Then before you knew it I was 16 skipping high school goin to the track... and then 17 sneaking into casino's. Then 18 making bets with a bookie...

But on another note... If the kids quiet and just likes to watch I don't care if he is really there... It's those kids who run arond and cry that shouldn't be at the track.
