What are you usually tested for during the physical required before entering a nursing program?

I have never had a physical before so I don't even know the basics.

Also, what diseases do they usually check for?

I am in North Carolina if that is beneficial to your answer.

  1. I've done a few of these & it seems like everyone's form is different.  You always get a TB test  (in my experience); some want a UA & a color blindness test and MMR titers. Other than that, its a pretty quick head to toe physical exam (vision, ears, heart & lungs, abdominal exam etc) with an emphasis on the orthopedic portion (back exam).  It's not in depth and they are only concerned about the communicable diseases such as TB, measles, mumps & rubella that you could spread around the hospital.
