  1. I do a lot of collage work.  I do a page in these books that are handmade and get sent around in snail mail called DECOS.  You do a page with whatever theme, if any, that it requires, put your info (address, interests, email address, etc...) on your page, and then pass it along to another person.  I also take pictures of Barbies.  I dress them up with different themes and call them all Barbie Fashion Show.  For example, I have one called Barbie Fashion Show: Back to School Edition, I have Formal Wear Edition, and today I'm doing one called Party Dress Edition.  It's silly, but it's something I love to do.  I also make greeting cards (blank on the inside) and am about to start doing ATCs, which are Artist Trading Cards, also something you decorate, design, about the size of a baseball card, and they get swapped through the mail as well.  Anything I can use my collaging skills or photography skills is what I love to do.

My suggestions are go to a local craft supply store in your area.  Get a feel for what you like and what you can afford.  When I shop craft stores, I buy a bunch of different things and then watch them all fall together when i'm creating.  :-)

  2. Before you choose a new hobby, you'll want to think about a couple of things: how much time do you have to set aside; how much money do you have to spend; how much patience do you have? Are you willing to wait minutes, hours, or days for a finished project? Are you willing to sit down for 5 minutes at a time, or 5 hours at a time? Do you want to spend 5 dollars, or are you ok to spend 50 dollars?

Whatever hobby you choose to start with, if you live in a city that has some specialized craft stores, visiting some of those is a great way to see what the craft is like. Also, try starting with kits, or take a class or two! That way, if you need special tools, or a large array of supplies, you'll have a better idea of what you need.

Also, do some online research. Websites like craftster are pretty young, but they offer insights onto a WIDE range of arts, crafts, and hobbies.

  3. If scrapbooking is an interest, then you can get started at no cost whatsoever by just creating an account at PhotoAlbum.com. You can create scrapbooks of many different sizes, and you can create custom covers as well. Soon you will be able to share your scrapbook with friends and family as an online flip book. You can also order printed copies as well.

  4. i build radio control airplanes

1 i make my own design, build from scratch and

2 i get to use my own paint scheme and weathering and

    3 i'll fly them!!!

  5. Cross-stitching is the craft to which I've lost my heart -it's soooo creative and great fun, and suits also for those awful rainy days!
