There has been several incidence @ school w/my child. However, this one is where the P.E. teacher put my son in I.S.S. because he couldn't/wouldn't finish his lap! My son has several "health" issues and they are well aware of this!! Then my niece comes home and tells me that the P.E. teacher called them "idiots" today. What is wrong with these teachers? Is there anything leagally I can do? He is in the 3rd grade. Teachers should encourage kids- not make their sel-esteem worse!

  1. I would first talk to the PE teacher. Ask if it's true he call the students idiots and explain that it has hurt your child's feelings. If he/she is responsive then leave it at that. If the PE teacher is rude then I'd take it to the principal.

  2. Take it you are in America because of your wording so i cant help with your childs rights

BUT dont let this drop.....take it all the way!

The way your child is being treated is wrong. DONT get sweet talked out of this, You want things to change.

  3. I agree, you need to take it up with the principle and the BOE, My son and I dealt with a teacher last school year that always seemed to pick on him. When talking to other parents (which you might want to do also) I found out it wasn't only him being picked on. We took it to our principle and the head administrator and needless to say that teacher is gone this year. Hope everything turns out good for you.

  4. I don't know but I'd report it to the principal

  5. Yes there is.Either put them in another school or home school them.

  6. I'm not sure...I'd talk to the principal about it.

  7. You are describing bullying behavior and unfortunately, there is very little you can do.

Children's rights to be treated with respect often end when they walk onto school grounds.

Children in school do not even have the right to their bodily functions...they need to ask permission to use the restroom.

This lack of respect for children's dignity and self-esteem is rampant, not only in school, but in society.

  8. if i were you i would call the school board and place a complaint about the teacher. you could even have the girl make a statement about the incident when the teach calle dthe kids idiots!! this person clearly has no place teaching kids. he obviously doesnt enjoy it.

  9. If you son's health problems have been documented by his doctor and the school has a copy of this then his ISS was definantly wrong.  Also, you should have been notified about the ISS beforehand.

As for him calling them idiots, I would go to the principal.  And if the principal doesn't do anything then I would go to the board of education. Be an advocate for your child as well as all the other kids who will have to put up with that teacher.  Call all the parents you possibly can and ask them if their children have any complaints about this teacher.

  10. you have a lot of rights as a parent, firstly your child has health issues in which you've stated that they are aware of, secondly the name calling is totally wrong, so my suggestion will be seeing that you have already went in to talk to the principal about this matter and u said u have another appointment , so if after you go to the appt. and nothing is done to resolve this problem, i would take it further and talk to the Board of education, or the district School Board about what has been happening to your child at school.School is supposed to provide a safe and happy environment for your kids to be in while teaching them to learn, an if that head aren't providing that, then it is considered unsafe and you have all rights to report it.Also if u want you can tell the media, go report it to a local tv station, or local newspaper .

  11. GO IN TO THE SCHOOL. See the teacher, not the principal, or the school board.

Keep in mind, your goal is to get a good education for your child.

your neice may be lying, she may be telling the truth- don't go in as if you were there.

The teacher needs to know that such things are repeated at home, and if he has a habit of saying and doing nasty things, you'll be right there.

If it continues, and you're not getting a response, THEN go up the ladder.
