  1. I'm not one for recycling.....because I'm a lazy american but I am for protecting wild animals and keeping them from being mistreated and/or over hunted. Even though I should probably care more....

But the world will probably end in 2012 anyway, so what does it matter?

  2. "this world is not your father's property..........its a loan from your childern"

well done harry, that sums it up nicely.

it's an american first nation saying, i dont know by who or which tribe, but its a timeless classic, up there with 'do as you would be done by'.

  3. I find my spiritual, moral and environmental ethics are all quite closely related.

I think everything we do in our day to day lives has an impact locally and globally. Environmental ethics was one of the major reasons I decided to become vegan. I believe we can drastically reduce our environmental impact if we have a vegan or vegetarian diet. Global demand for meat has multiplied in recent years. Factory farming consume enormous amounts of energy, water, land and natural resources. Agri-business pollutes water supplies, greenhouse gases and require ever-increasing amounts of corn, soy and other grains, vast areas of deforestation are required to grow grains.

I think our government should also be more supportive. Our transport systems discourage public transport due to inefficiency and costs. Governments should also provide more funding towards green energy and environmental research initiatives. If only a fraction of the funds spent on war was diverted to research I can only imagine the world of improvement.

Each individual has the potential to improve and reduce their impact on the environment, but we need the support of governments and authorities. We should work together as a society and as a whole to try and improve the current environmental crisis.

I think a huge societal shift is required for significant environmental change. A shift away from our materialistic, selfish and competitive practices.

We need environmental ethics, because if we persist on this path of environmental degredation,  mother nature will force us to change, or we simply will not be able to continue this kind of existence.

  4. I believe in protecting the environment in every possible way...

Be it recycling, reusing, protecting endangered animals, sustainable development, Protecting the forests etc, I will do whatever I can to protect the entire environment......

I have lived in my country for 20 years now and I know how the environment is changing. Things have changed so much that it is just too scary at times... And I know this is all what we did to the environment that is coming back to us... We DESERVE all what we are getting; the earthquakes, the tornados, etc etc

I need my environmental ethics because I believe in mother nature. I believe that we are paying for what we did in the past to hurt her.

The American on top (typically) said: "The world is coming to an end in 2012 anyways so who cares?" Im so happy that Im not as ignorant as that really.... What if one of your loved ones were dying and he/she was only to live for one more year. Would you just GIVE UP? Or would you try and help make that year memorable for that person or just help out for all the mistakes you've made... ???

That is what I am doing....trying to make things right in any way possible..if everyone thought this way and helped out in ANY way possible...even by planting ONE measly tree, we would be making a whole load of changes!

    Peace Out!
