better homes and gardens is one of my favorite because it is simple to figure out and has recipes that tell you the nutritional facts

Of course chinese food cook book!!!! once you taste chinese food, you will know how nice is the asean chinese food..... surf for the recipes.....

My absolute favorite is the Martha Stewart baking handbook. Everything I have made from there has been AMAZING. I highly recommend this book!

My all time favorite cookbooks is the The Good Cooks Techniques and Recipes published by Time Life Books around 1980 I believe. There are 28  in the set.  I see them occasionally in good used bookstores.

When I downsized my home a couple of years ago,  I kept these and maybe a half dozen other cookbooks from over 100 that I used to own.

The best cookbook around now days is the Internet.

My favorites are the Betty Crocker All-New Cookbook,I have a Campbell's Cookbook,and a Bisquick Cookbook,and also 2 Splenda Cookbooks.
