What are your favorite pool games?

My favorite game is 9 ball because it takes alot more skill and thought than 8 ball and they are the most popular games around here.

I love Snooker as well.

i perfer 9 ball but 8 ball is good when u are playing w/ two people or four.

Straight pool and 10 ball.

I prefer the game of 10 ball to 9 ball simply because the break is not nearly as predictable and you end up with a lot more difficult layouts.

Overall though I would say that straight pool is probably the best all around game. You need to be good at all aspects of the game to play great straight pool. Banks, combinations, safety play, strategy, and shot making of every variety.

Chicago, Pill Pool (4 or more players usually), Straight Pool, 7-ball, Cut-Throat (3 players).  I'll only play 8-ball in the bars because that's what they play there occasionally 3-ball.  Sometimes I'll jump in a local 9-ball tourny.  Again because that's what they play near me.

For me the game depends on the location, what's the norm, who I'm with, how long I want to play, etc.  Sometimes for practice I'll jump on a carom table by myself.
