  1. To really give a correct answer, for me, you'd have to supply a link where I could see pictures of the hairstyles you're speaking about.

But having seen portraits of Queen Mary, she was the height of elegance and even if, as one person mentioned, it was an "engineering feat" I'd have to say she was the most elegant and refined lady that I've seen and staying within your choices.

Don't forget, the hair was probably less of an engineering feat than was the corset and that hourglass figure.

For the sheer amount of time that must have gone into looking good back, Queen Mary gets my vote.

But, again, it was a time when women didn't go out with their hair undone, clothes that were better left on at the privacy of home and figures that were worked on with diet, girdles and corsets.   And, I suspect that they did this not so much to please their men but themselves.  Just my opinion.

  2. I like cleopatra's hair!

  3. ------Hair cut in a flapper bob--a sure sign of an emancipated woman

    ------Jackie Kennedy's do

    ------Audrey Hepburn's pixie style

------Any hair style that makes allowances for auburn naturally curly hair that does whatever it wants to in humid weather!

  4. I love girls with bangs!

  5. Pebble Flintstones.

  6. Definitely the "BOB"

  7. Cleopatra had the sexiest hairdo of all time. More women should wear it.

  8. Bobby Charlton's 'comb-over'!

  9. Cher's long black hair

    Albert Einstein's poof

    Frankenstein's flat hair head

Queen Victoria's early years, braids looped on the sides of her head

    Marilyn Monroe

    Farrah Fawcett

Anne of Green Gable's ponytails (fictional character)

    Ronald McDonald's red hair

Ernie and Bert on Sesame Street

Barbie (she had it before Paris copied it)

    Ernesto "Che" Guevara

Old Father Time and Santa Claus both have beards that deserves a mention

    Yul Brynner's head

  10. mary j blige, cleopatra and marie antoinette...

actually they're all proud "wig-ladies".... lol... still

  11. Marie Antoinette, She had class

  12. Definitely Queen Mary-

Her late Majesty was the height of sophistication and elegance. Possibly the best Queen Consort we have ever been fortunate to have and lovely coiffeured hair. Pristine everytime to match her gorgeous jewelry and dresses.

I'm glad she has been recognised as a contender and that people appreciate who she was and how stylish she was for her time and age.

  13. The Stone Age would be fun...Like WILLMA, with a big bone in her hair! HAHA!!

Seriously, the bee hive has to be the best. Can you imagine? My mom has a picture of her at her 21st birthday and my brother goes "Yeah, and there's an inch of hair for every year"!

  14. Queen Mary's looked like quite a feat of engineering.

Worst one ever has to be Amy winehouse.
