What are your favorite things to do in Washington, DC?

There is a LOT to do in Washington, DC.  My first suggestion is that you browse around Trip Advisor.  Always interesting advice from other travelers.  

It depends on what you want to do.  Public transportation is very good in DC.  You can take the Metro, or a cab.  

Many of the museums and monuments in downtown DC are free, although the museum hours are rather limited (close by 5pm).  

One of the best views of Washington, DC is at the Washington Monument.  You need to get free tickets... suggest you make sure you go in the morning to try and get tickets.  

The National Zoo is free to the public.  It is one of only 4 zoos in the country to house pandas (3 pandas.. Mei Xiang, Tian Tian, and their three year old cub Tai Shan).  

Georgetown and Adams Morgan are known for a large variety of good restaurants.
