What are your feelings about global warming?

The globe is going to warm and cool over time no matter what we humans do or don't do.  Even if we are responsible, there is nothing practical that can be done to significantly alter the course of climate change.  We don't understand the dynamics involved well enough to meaningfully affect a system as immense as the earth in a purposeful way.  And even if we could, there's always the chance we'll just make things worse.

Assuming the human race must continue, then we need to devote our resources and intellects toward figuring out how to survive a catastrophic climate change event as a species.

This is science.  It's not about feeling or clever verbal arguments.  It's about knowledge and data.

Global warming is real and mostly caused by us.  Three reasons, with solid support, most important first.

It's  a HUGE PROBLEM! I can't believe that some people are not worried about it at all or don't believe in it. IT'S A FACT PEOPLE! Some people are like 'well the earth is going to blow up so why does it matter?' True, but that won't be for another 5 BILLION YEARS!  And I rather have our planet ruined in 5 billion years because of nature reasons than the earth getting ruined in the next couple thousand years because George Bush won't push car companies to make more hybrids and battery powered cars!

So-I think it's something we have to DEFFINATLY worry about and something that should always be on our mind.

Science by consensus is garbage and *definitely* no science, at all!

Look what happened when there was consensus that the earth was flat and that the sun revolved around the earth!

Though it makes no difference what my feelings are, or anyone else's, for that matter, my feelings are disgust, loathing, and fear.  Nowhere in my research can I find factual data to justify the alarmist stance taken by global warming proponents.  My analysis of NOAA provided data, using the harshest reasonable mathematical assumption, that of exponential increase in temperature, yields a trend curve that evaluates at 53.7°F for the year 2006, 5°F lower than the "consensus" estimate, and 1°F lower that the temperature taught when I was a child.  The rate of temperature increase from this analysis is 0.2% per century, which can be approximated as 1.3°F in the next century.  The compression of the time scale on the NOAA data to make this increase look more severe is disgusting.  Distortion of the Mauna Loa data is just as disgusting.  Certainly it shows a sharp increase in CO2 concentrations since 1957, and current levels are about 400 parts per million.  By way of perspective, water vapor is every bit the greenhouse gas that CO2 is, and exists in our atmosphere in concentrations 25 to 100 times that of CO2, and is almost wholly responsible for any greenhouse effect on this planet.

The steps proposed thus far to counter this imaginary threat would, if carried out completely, result in the end of civilization as we know it.  My fear is that the alarmists are so humgry for power that they will succeed in shouting down reason, and bring about such a collapse.
