  1. They rock!

  2. I think it's a completely legitimate choice that can be great and healthy for some people, and not a good choice for others. Honestly your eating habits and your reasons are your own, in my opinion, and it's not my right to tell you they're wrong or stupid. That said, if someone is always going on about how I'm a horrible person for eating meat, that makes me want to chow down on a big plate of bacon right in front of them.

You're entitled to your opinions, but they aren't an excuse to be a jerk.

  3. We're awesome, of course ...

  4. I'm a vegetarian. Obviously I can't speak for all veggies, but here's why I personally do it:

    I don't trust what I eat.

I've been to industrial farms. I know what they do to animals (chickens are the worst, but cows and pigs don't get treated very nicely either.) I wouldn't mind eating meat that had been killed humanely and respectfully, but the way these animals live before they're slaughtered amounts to a lifelong, living h**l.

I was unlucky enough to grow up in a place where industrial meat was the only option, but I am lucky enough to have moved to a place where I have the alternative of meat from small farms at farmer's markets, mostly organic. Still, I haven't been to one of these farms, so I'm still skeptical. There's nothing morally wrong, I think, with eating meat (although Peter Singer would disagree with me - look him up). I do have moral objections, however, to supporting a system of massive, horrifying inhumanity.

Hope that helped give you a vegetarian's perspective.

  5. Kayley- if you have ever eaten kfc or McDonald's its most likely that animal was killed in a slaughter house.

The animals are brought in on trucks and can smell the death all around them it would be a terrifying experience for them...as humanely as it is putting a bolt through a cows head and slitting its throat in front of others....

So most vegetarians probably arent acting as if the chicken and cow population is going extinct.

Being a vegetarian is a choice as long as the suppliments are used and you get plenty of iron (especially for girls) its fine

There are also plenty of recipes and cook books for vegetarians and vegans

  6. I think that a vegetarian is someone who considers an animal's quality of life and death, above their own want to stuff their faces.

  7. I am a vegetarian (lacto-ovo) for 7 years. The last few weeks I have been thinking about going vegan and now I am just like "how could I not have been vegan?"

Yes being a vegetarian is saving animals!

but I started thinnking about the sad cows who are milked constantly ( isaw in an episode of Jon and Kate plus 8) a milking factory and the cows line up in a circle (inside) and goaround to be milked by a machine, then go rub against a brush to get brushedand go back around the line. Just sad.

so I wanted to help those animals too. and the chickens debeaked and crowded.

but one step at a time i suppose! vegetarian is better  than nothing.

  8. I could care less about anyones dietary habits as long as they do not care about mine.

  9. they are ok, i have nothing against them. it's just they act like cows and chickens are going extinct and that we should stop eating them to save them. i understand that some animals are treated cruelly, but i do my best to choose food that is taken care of properly.

so i think i can see why people would be vegetarian but it's just not for me. althoughi do have some friends who are vegetarian.

  10. im a vegeterian i think they r so awesome!!

  11. i adore them. they inspire people to change.

  12. Depends on their motives and personalities.

For the most part it is a positive in that their dietary lifestyles not only alleviate suffering of animals but also are helpful to the environment and tend to be healthier individuals.

Usually this translates into positive personality traits but not always. In any movement there are all types.

  13. I became a vegan last year for animal rights. I love it

  14. Well, I think vegeterians care about animals. They inspire people and me to remember that we are eating what has once been an animal Just if you are a vegeterian, remember to eat a lot of tofu to get your iron.

I hope this is what you are talking about.

  15. I have no feelings for vegetarians,I let them be,I feel that I'm doing all them a favor by eating all the animals: cows and pigs etc.

  16. If it works for them, that's great!

  17. Which ones in particular? They are a diverse group like any other, with a wide range of views, ideas, personalities and behaviours.

You can't generalise - some are nice, some are horrible - just like any other group.

  18. how about this.. what do you think of the same question being asked redundantly about this?

over done...  move along.. what's wrong,  chemically packed processed food got you stuck in a loop?
