Lots of amusement parks have areas for groups to eat/drink and special discounts.

Go to a local park and have a company softball tournament or for 2008, stage a company Olympics party.

you could rent a bus and take a trip to a local amusement park or zoo

a boat tour on a lake or river, maybe with appetizers and drinks or a dinner cruise

charter a bus to see a play, maybe drinks beforehand

white water rafting (gets into the teamwork aspect of company outing!)

they have those teamwork building workshops...where they take you out in the woods and you fit 20 people onto a 2ft x 2ft block, fall back into someones arms, glide on ropes from tree to tree...stuff like that.

horseback riding and picnic lunch

tailgating at a sporting event then go see the game

charter a bus to a large city to sight see

Barbeque at a state park with employees and their families. Organize games for the children and the employees. Have it catered or hire a party organizer. It was a big hit with my 331 employees and a lot less expensive than a Holiday party in December.

Give everyone an initial and they have to bring that initial

Have a "progressive" party, choose 3 venues and split your menu, in 3 ways.
