Do I have the right to sell or give away any property that was left behind?

aslong as its not solely in his name you can do whatever you want with it. just make sure he didnt purchase it with a credit card in his name because if it went to court and he had credit card receipts for items that you sold and were his, and he has the receipt to prove it. you could be paying him back
