I just got my very first pair of contacts today, and i have to take em out at 9, but i was wondering. did anybody have trouble putting in and taking out thier contact lenses thier first day? I spent an hour and a half in the optometrists office trying to put in my contacts, take them out, and put them in once more. I want to know if any of you have special ways of taking out and putting in your contacts. im dreading when it's 9:00 and i have to take em out. i guess i get freaked out when i think about touching my own eye, so im reluctent to get my eye open wide, keep it open, stik my finger in it, and pinch out the lens. anyone have any tips, methods for me. im 13 by the way.

  1. I'm 16 and I've just started on them a few months ago. I remember I had the same problem as you but don't worry! You will get the hang of it within a week or even less!

When putting them on, hold your upper and lower lid firmly with your two middle fingers (put on the contacts with the hand you write with - easier that way) then line up the contact with your eye in the mirror. Look to the side or stare ahead whilst putting it in slowly then roll your eye around before blinking. Everyone is different so you will have to do trial and error in which position you look at to get it to work. When I look ahead, it works better for me.

Taking them out is easy. Hold your eyelids firmly and gently slide the contact with your index finger before pinching it out.

I hope this will help and I wish you the best of luck! :)

  2. Yes,

I was so pissed scared silly when I had to put them on,

I cried with my eye open.

YOU GET USED TO IT THOUGH.

Look directly at eye in the mirror.

Taking them slide them to the corner,

pinch gently, and put them back in their

    protective container.

  3. I hate when people don't even ask what kind they were.

First of all there are two methods, depending on what you gotten prescribed Soft contact lenses or Hard?

    For hard:

open your eyes as wide as you can and move the corner of your eye in a pulling motion up and down and kind of around make sure your eye is open that way it can fall out.

    For soft:

Simple, simply touch it and sometimes it sticks if not, use your finger tips don't be afraid :-*

  4. Putting them in is hard. Taking them out is easy. To take them out just put your thumb and index finger over your iris (colored part) and pluck them out. It's really easy.

I get frustrated putting them in, though because you have to get it perfect or it won't stay.
