What are your opinions on solar shingles? Good?Why? Bad? Why? Anyone have them?

Wondering about these new solar shingles. Are they better than solar panels? Can you cover the whole roof in them? How much power would they supply? Any other info welcome.

Solar shingles are made to look more like a conventional roof. The performance is similar to solar panels, but the position of your house will dictate the efficiency. With panels, you can fine tune the angle of incident. If your house is positioned right, then they will be OK and you can save the cost of regular shingles.

One thing to be aware of is the life of the shingle and the cost to replace/repair.
