I love the name Mahalia and just wanted to see what peoples opinions are

my name is Hayley and my husband is Mark so i thought it would be a cute way of combining the name but still using a real name

I love it (when it's pronounced Ma - har - lee - a).  It's a gorgeous name and combines your and your husbands names well

I like the idea of combining you and your husband's names to create the name of your child.  I'm not sure that I like Mahalia as a first name.  It would be a great middle name, though.  Maybe you can combine your middle names.  What about Marley?

The name by itself is cute

However, the fact that you have a little bit of a story behind it, makes it precious!

I am named after my paternal grandmother, and I love the link and story. My oldest son is named after his dad's best friend, and carries his dad's name as his middle name. My youngest son has a name that my hubby and I picked out while we were still in the dating stage of our relationship.

Having these little stories makes the names unique and special - as having your story will do the same for you and your daughter.

hmm i'm not so sure - depends how it's pronounced

i think pronounced "ma-HAY-li-a" sounds pretty

my first thought was to pronounce it Ma-hay-lee-a. there is no R in the name, so she will always have to correct people. If you change the spelling then I think it will be cute.
