What are your perceptions of British people?

Just asking 'cos I was watching a Family Guy episode where they make us Brits out to have bad teeth, speak posh, and are boring!!

We are jolly bloody well not like that old beans.

What do you think we are like?

i love that episode when stewy tries to teach that blond baby bimbo american english.lol its hilarious. family guy is known to exaggerate stereotypes its all for laughs dont get any ideas.

I just think of home.

Because Britain is so close to Ireland, where I grew up.

I'm so confused in my life because I have lived the best (and worst!) of both worlds (Ireland and the US) so I feel completely detached from both. Over here (US) I'm the Irish girl, and when I'm in the UK I'm the American! I just don't know what I am *sigh*

Irish-American through and through I suppose.

Anyways, so when I think of the British..

I think of home. Which is a comforting thought. (Although Britain isn't Ireland, it's close enough). I think of...just memories I have. Nothing in specific about the people, but moreso of my memories (I have some family in Kew Gardens, and we used to visit them during our summers). When I come across someone British here, it's almost like...a relief(?) That's not exactly the right word...but it's along those lines. OH! And I think about how the food is so much better over there than it is here, so thus I think of how lucky they are over there haha!

Here in the US, at least where I am in Ohio, you can get your drivers permit when you're 16, but you can get a temporary drivers permit when you are 15 (can only drive with a parent/guardian in the car). You can buy cigarettes and vote when you are 18, and drink and gamble when you are 21.

How old do you have to be to drive and smoke in England? When i was talking to creepy Turner who was 15, he said he smoked and goes to bars every night lmao....

I am TOTALLY hot, bronzed and super cool...except...I'm not that hot, I don't think I know anyone with fairer skin than me (d**n Irish heritage!) and I read Harry Potter on a ragular basis.

I second the thanking of Monty Python but would also like to say thanks for the English version of "The Office" and J.K. Rowling!!

i LOVE the Brits. ESPECIALLY your TV shows. i watch many British TV shows on youtube because they are so much better than what we get here in Canada. I also really like British humour :)
