After much thought and consideration I feel confident about what I want to do with my life. I want to learn about music, dancing, martial arts, science, math, reading, writing, singing, languages, and other such enjoyable subjects. Second I want to teach and offer children 12 and under all this great stuff with the help of some well qualified employees. Third I want to be very well off, happy, healthy, and wealthy. Please offer some detailed examples of how you would achieve all these goals. I'm still considering going into the military for the benifits and possible college education money but all my end results will be in the pursuit of "The Good Life: that includes a variety of interest as well as good family, good friends, and a happy, healthy, wealthy life. Where should I go for answers on how to run a successful activities center for children? The YMCA perahaps but I believe they are nonprofit...I want to make a good living doing what I love: Learn, Explain, Create, Stratagis.

  1. Well, if you insist on the wealthy part, I would suggest starting an expensive private school that includes all these things. Good luck.

  2. The military might have more for you than you are thinking. I joined at the age of 18 (air force). I got into the second field I wanted (material management) but that got boring. I changed jobs quite abit including computers, parks management, security police, hotel managment, animal handling, teaching, and others. I did well at all of them and could easily fall back on any of them if I needed to. It was very enjoyable.

Each change did not involve having to start over in seniority and pay level like it would in the civilian world. So anytime I got bored or stuck in a position where I didnt like the people I was working for I would take the basic course material for another job and move. I also was able to do lots of college hours in my free time. I retired from the military at age 38 with a nice monthly retirement check and full benefits (such as medical benefits). So since the age of 38 I havent HAD to work. I can work at jobs that interest me and I dont have to sweat every little thing that might get me fired.

I can easily remember positions involving music, dancing, martial arts, science, math, reading, writing, singing, languages, teaching. We had bands of all types, and choruses. Getting a job with "Morale and Welfare" would let you work at a community center or gym which would allow you to work at, and then teach, dancing and martial arts. Science, Math, Writing come up alot. Testing labs, accounting, public relations (the base newspaper). Reading I suppose would mean going into the library service.

  3. WOW!  I suppose if any of us really knew the answer to your question we would be doing it!  But in all seriousness, the difficulty of your question lies in the part where you say you want to be well off, successful and wealthy.  BUT you also say you want to teach...any teacher would say that it is not an area where a person tends to make a lot of money.  Most people who teach children do so because they really love what they do.  Second, many parents do not have the money to provide these services to children with the public schools.  Fortunately for you, I think you wish to cater to a more wealthy and particular clientele.

My suggestion: own your own business -create and design your own unique Family fun center. Pay a fee get a service, fancy electronic games...aim for a grownup fancy chuckycheese type place. think private think how to offer something different then norm pizza.  Maybe fancy restaurant, spa, Fine Art,  Museum etc.  Find partners with private investors
