What are your reasons for supporting the War in Iraq?

Question

Hi, for those of you who support the war in Iraq, can you please give me a list of reasons why.

(I'm indifferent to it, I don't want this to turn into a debate with people shoving opinions down peoples throats because they do support the war, and don't answer if you are going to give the reasons why you DON'T support it cause that's not what I want to know, in other words don't use this question to vent about george bush)

How it is possible to be "indifferent" to the war is beyond me. Thousands of people are suffering and dying.

Without going into whether it was right to start the war, the problem is that you can't just stop it. Pull out the troops and it will be a massacre followed by an invasion by Iran which could spark off war all over the Middle East and possibly a world war.

So in my opinion it's not a case of supporting or not supporting the war but how the h**l do you make Iraq stable enough to leave.

The entire region is unstable.

Iraq is at the crux of five civilizations

Russia, China, India, Islam in two flavours, Europe.

Then there is the Israeli factor.

All these civilizations have vital interests in the region that includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. None of the civilizations want instability on thier borders.

Can you imagine what would have happened in Iraq if Saddam had been toppled without the US presence? The current fighting would seem like a minor spat.

Now the USA has seized a piece of strategic ground right in the middle of the crisis area. The US presence makes the prospect of global conflict less likely.

I do not support this illegal occupation ! What I do support 100% are the forces personell who are out there doing their duty whilst the cowardly politicians skulk at home out of harm's way !
