What are your swimming times?

Ok so this is not a competition but I would be interested to know what sort of times people can get and what sort of training they do.

I am 16 and have just been selected as swimming captain for my school and would really like to improve a lot as I personally think I am not a particularly fast swimmer!

Ok so these times are a little outdated and I think I could do a lot better in the 50m and the 100m but here goes:

Freestyle (frontcrawl):

25m: 13.21 secs

50m: 30.32 secs

100m: 1.10.23 secs

Breastroke:

25m: 19.00 secs

50m: 40.03 secs

Backstroke:

25m 17.67 secs

So I train normally three to four times a week with about a 400-500m warm up and then on to some drill excersises, high elbow, long strech, just kicking, just pulling (no kicking), then most probably onto sprints and timings.

What about you?

Thanks

you must not have a very good team, because i would expect better ability from a captain.

  4. For your reference:  This is the posting for LCM for 15-18 yr olds for the State Champs in IL....a very competetive state.....50 M free men is 26.99, 100 M free is 57.59...there is no 50 M breast or back....100 M breast is 1:16.59 and 100 M back is 1:08.59.  These do not compare with world champs standard... which is for 50 M free 23.29, for 100 M breast, 1:04.69 and 100 M back, 57.69.  This in no way means you "suck".  It just gives you a standard to go by.   Congrats on your times.  Keep up the good work!

  5. I'm 17, Senior in highschool.

I'm one of the fastest sprinters on my highschool team.

Our highschool team trains 31 hours a week, swimming total yardage equaling 6.6 miles.
