What are your thoughts about bajaj classic sl 150 cc kick start model???

i purchased the scooter in year 2000 and since i do have a car it is used sparingly and it covered only 1400 km in 8 years. earlier i have problem with it but after servicing from bajaj workshop its fine, it starts with a single kick even in january 2 degree cold without choke!!!. i wanna know wat the choke does??? and wat are benefits of kick start over electric start??? my scooter looks brand new as i kept inside the garage. even the mechanic said that it loooked a week old scooter.

The work of a spark plug is to make sparks a specified timing. during cold conditions the engine is not warm enough to start on the normal sparking timings.

So when u pull that choke then ur timing changes and ur vehicle starts.

Kick start is better because everytime u kick, the lubricant oil in ur crankcase(engine) spreads. This reduces friction which is good for ur engine. Whereas the self start just makes the piston to move, bare enough to start!!!.

But have u ever wondered why P220, yamaha R1, R6, Ninja, CBR 600RR, 1000RR, ducaties etc have no kick lever and yet their performance is unmatched.

This is because the use fuel-injection technology(FI).

So when ur vehicle has the Fi instead of the carbureator, it does not matter to use self or kick!!!
