  1. Distance learning can work very well for someone who has a great deal of self-discipline.  Without having a class to attend with a "meat" teacher, it's easy to blow off doing assignments, discussion boards, etc.. so if you aren't self-motivated, distance learning is not for you.

The only other drawback I have found with distance learning is when you need to ask the teacher a question, there is no such thing as getting an answer "right now" and that can be frustrating.

    Good luck!

  2. I love it! I can plan my week's assignments according to difficulty, get the tough ones done first. I'm a night owl, so reading and doing problems at 2am suits me just fine.

It was mentioned that you can't get your answers "right now". But if you have an in-seat Tue/Thur class and Wednesday you're stuck, same problem I email my problem, and it usually gets answered the next day. Anyway, while I wait, I work on something else.

I don't like having to log in to discussion questions 5 days out of 7. Sometimes there's only dumb things to comment on. That takes the place of "class time".

If the instructor is good, I enjoy the classes very much.
