  1. i think he is an ego maniacal tool

  2. I'm just glad the whole fiasco is over. Now the Packers can concentrate on getting ready for the regular season.

  3. I don't know about you guys, but I've lost all respect for Favre. He's the toughest guy to play the position in decades, but all this whining and crying saying that the Packers 'abandoned him' after he FINALLY announced his retirement. He's been undecided for three f***ing years! And, right before training camp, he announces that he's coming back. Well, I think the Packers did the right thing. It's time to move on.

To (finally) answer your question, I honestly wish him the best as a Jet, but I don't think he's going to amount to much. I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Nobody remembers Unitas as a Charger, nobody remembers Namath as a Ram, and nobody will remember Favre as a Jet."

  4. I think the Jets will definitely improve and with their schedule they could make a leap forward . The key game is the 2nd one of the season against the Patriots. An upset there  could get the ball rolling for the Jets.

  5. he should have retired a packer

  6. I think they will be right in the thick of the playoff race and be contenders in the AFC.

Now does that mean they can challenge teams like New England and San Diego for the conference title? Maybe not now. But as far as being one of the better teams in the AFC, you can count on that. There are a lot of things to like about this Jets team to believe playoffs this year.

First, they rebuilt that offensive line to give Brett protection. With the additions of Alan Faneca, a 7 time Pro Bowl Guard, and Damien Woody, a reliable Offensive Tackle, and you add that to D'Brickshaw Furgeson and Nick Mangold, that's a pretty stout line. Remember, Green Bay had great tackles, but as a die hard fan and watched all their games closely, their guard play was abysmal. It was a revolving door between Darren Colledge, Jason Spitz, Junius Coston, and Tony Moll. But the silver lining in that was: they had Brett Favre. Thats why early in the season, you saw all those quick passes, slants, and drag routes, to avoid the rush and take advantage of Favre's arm strength and quick release. He will be fine behind New York's line.

The next positive is this makes the Jets running game A LOT more effective. Jets fans, I saw some of your games, and that running game was getting stuffed constantly, because no defense respected the passing game. Chad Pennington could not stretch the field and maker defenses respect him. Now with Brett Favre in, the defense has to be more honest, playing more 7 man fronts and deeper coverages, allowing more running lanes and room for the running backs to operate.  And New York has some pretty good running backs, with Thomas Jones and Leon Washington.

Then, you make the wide receivers  a lot better as well with Favre now throwing the ball. New York has all the types of receivers Favre loves to play with: a deep threat and playmaker in Lavurneus Coles, a big bodied possesion receiver in Jericho Cotchery, and the athletic receiving tight end in Dustin Keller, not to mention Jones and Washington can catch out of the backfield. When Favre is dropping back, everyone should be prepared to catch the ball, because he will fit it in those tight areas, and will trust his receivers to make a play for him.

Last but not least, the defense is getting much better. They have a great core in Kerry Rhodes, David Harris, John Abraham, and Derelle Revis. Now you add Kris Jenkins, Calvin Pace, and the potential of a Vernon Gholston, and that defense looks vastly improved. And because New York plays that aggressive 3-4 scheme, priding on creating turnovers, that will give Brett Favre a lot more chances to have the offense score points.

This can be a really good year for New York, and Favre is the tipping point for the Jets.

Edit: They also play the AFC West and NFC West, two of the weaker divisions in the NFL.

  7. I could careless, I hate football.  sorry

  8. Jets go 8-8 with Favre and 7-9 w/o him!

Favre is not a bad QB but the Jets are a bad team!!!

    J-E-T-S! SUCK! SUCK! SUCK!

  9. I honestly dont think hes gonna help them improve to much. Emotionally I think he is unstable and I dont think hes going to be able to adjust all that well. Personally I think he shouldve stayed retired. Not to mention he has only promised the Jets 1 year, and doesnt know what he' going to do after this season. So I dont get the point if he has no intentions of staying.

  10. honestly, i think he needs to make up his mind if he wants to retire or not! its not fair to his team to go back and forth every year!

as far as the Jets, I'm sure he will make them a great player!

  11. I think Brett proved that this really was all about his desire to just play football some more.  Why else would he agree to go to the Jets after giving up 20 million to do nothing.

I don't think he will save the Jets in one year...but I suppose if anyone can, it would be Favre.

I think they go about 7-9, miss the playoffs, Brett retires for real with no press conference.  The network can just replay his last one..

However, if Brett is terrific and the rest of the team is as well...and they beat all odds and go to the Superbowl, well, Brett would answer the question of who the greatest player of all time is.  But it is not gonna happen.

  12. It was an absolute poor decision by the Packer's Management trading away their franchise's greatest quarterback and any chances at a super bowl this year.

  13. I think its just as lame as the Jets so they will be happy together, go Giants!

  14. It's absolutely horrible!  I think he should have either retired or just played for the Packers. But the jets??? I mean come on!

  15. I Think It's Stupid How The Packers Gave Up A 5 Star Quaterback But Oh Well They Will Regret It
