I've heard of and see so many complaints.

I thought it was quite good. Personally Breaking Dawn and Twilight are the only good ones in the series.

  1. I was shocked by the quality -- it read like fan fiction.  Meyer clearly overstepped the boundaries with the fantasy element -- especially with "Nessie."

And it left me wondering more than ever: Why Bella?  Why does this girl have gift after gift?  I know it makes for a pretty story, but couldn't there be ONE agonizing moment as a newborn vampire?  Couldn't there be more struggle?  More to overcome?  But no... she ends up with everything!  The perfect body, the perfect lover, the perfect child, the perfect house, the perfect life... but why?

What is so redemptive about this character?  Nothing.  She's spoiled and self-centered... all the world needs to revolve around her constantly.  It's not enough that the Cullen's and the werewolves lives are totally focused on her... the Italian vampires need their Bella fix, too!  So she's a global phenomenon... this little pathetic, clumsy girl that can't express gratitude for birthday parties or nice cars.  No, instead she needs to complain constantly!

And Edward comes off as a total moron!  When Bella expresses an interest in college he quickly assures her that she isn't missing anything.  When Bella defends her unborn child, he refers to it coldly as a monster... then *poof* falls madly in love with it once it's born and he realizes the baby has Bella's eyes.

  2. i thought it was really good but i would have liked a little more romance with Bella and Edward

  3. I hated it and couldn't even finish it.

  4. It was very good.  I like that she broke it into three books.  Jacob's book would have been really confusing from Bella's point of view.  Twilight will always be my favorite, but Breaking Dawn is second.  I wish there had been a huge fight at the end though.  She usually puts high action toward the end, but this one last it.  It just had suspence.

  5. okayyy.

so first of all: i got my hopes up for the book but it didn't really meet my expectations. which i guess was kinda my fault. kinda.

second: half way through, i realized that i didn't like it. and it only took me that long because i was just happy to be reading more about twilight in general, not because of the actual plot.

third: it was too long and kinda boring. especially since nothing even happened with the Volturi (no fighting, i mean).

at the end, i decided that left off okay, but i wasn't happy while i was reading it.

and i guess i came to some type of closure with the characters, i just wish the book had been better.

plus, i was counting on it to be good cause otherwise soo many people would hate SM.

plus edward really annoyed me. and bella. slash i've always hated her but this book was like torture.

    ANDDDD i used to hate jacob, but now i don't, which kinda pisses me off. ,;

    so i guess i didn't like it.

  6. OMG i LOVED Breaking Dawn!!!

  7. I was a bit disappointed with it, in comparison to the other books.

For those that have read Twilight fanfiction, you would agree with me when I say it was a bit like fan fiction, but BUT apparently Steph Meyer decided on the ending a LONG time ago - I'm assuming that's where all the critisism is coming from.

Personally, I was a bit annoyed that there were so many distractions from Bella and Edward's own relationship, but yep that's how the plot keeps going.

My favourite is Eclipse, because it's just .. awesome.. followed shortly after by Twilight, then comes New Moon, then Breaking Dawn. I would put Twilight first because it's the start of the saga and the whole journey as such, but Eclipse just has so many good quotes and it's brilliantly structures .. a lot more awesome characters!!

It was nice how Steph decided to include things she'd mention earlier - like when Bella challenges Emmett, revealing the car, etc. I really liked Jake's perspective; it gave the novel something extra. The ending was cute, too. Edward FINALLY got to hear Bella's thoughts. Great ending.

  8. I loved it. I loved how it had twist that i never expected. i think it was a great book

  9. First off my only expections for Breaking Dawn was that I would enjoy reading it like I have enjoyed all of SMeyers other books.  Well and I expected Bella to end up with Edward, but that was pretty obvious.  I have to say that I was very disappointed with BD.

Some of the my complaints are:

#1 Renesmee aka Nessie aka MUTANT DEMON SPAWN- I really don't think her existence is even possible

#2 Jacob + Nessie- Why would a werewolf...I mean shapeshifter imprint on a mutant demon child.  It doesn't make sense.

#3 The theme of choice and sacrifice were pretty much thrown out the window

#4 Nearly everybody turned into giant MarySues

    #5 Everything turns out perfectly

#6 Bella is perfect and unrelatable

#7 Characters acted OUT of character all the time

#8 There was lots of vamp s*x, but no passion

#9 No overall plot or theme throughout the book

#10 Bella begging/crying like a baby for s*x- I lost a lot of respect for Bella for doing that

Those are just a few reasons.  The book just didn't flow with the rest of the series.  It didn't even sound like it was written by Stephanie.  I think the problem was that she basically just took Forever Dawn added in some parts for the new characters, like Jacob, and called it good.  However, that didn't work because the characters developed and changed in New Moon and Eclipse.  BD didn't take that into account since it was pretty much finished before NM and Eclipse existed.  It's really unfortunate.  I have lost my a lot of my passion for the Twilight series because of BD.

  10. i think that breaking dawn was really good.  Although i do think twilight newmoon and eclipse were better just in the way it was written.  I hated it when it went to book two because it was in jacobs point of view
