  1. it is fun, I love it. You just cant let it over rule you.

  2. Yup.  But I guess the problem gamblers are going to do it anyway, so you might as well tax it!  Exploit every possible weakness of the unwashed masses.  Give all the money to Haliburton.

  3. I think as long as you pay your bills and take care of business first then what you do with your extra money should be up too you. I personally like playing scratch off tickets. I'm not addicted but it's something I enjoy doing. But on the other hand if your bills are behind and you have no food on your table then that's a issue. To each it's own.

  4. I used to gamble a lot and quit when I realized I could have gone on a cruise, to Europe, bought Prada everything with the money that was being spent on a few hours of "entertainment."  Let's face it, the games are not entertaining-without the chance of winning money, they are downright dull (poker is a little more interesting to play).   In the days I went frequently, I started to notice the "big time" gamblers drove the crappiest cars, and saw people spend thousands of dollars in a few minutes.  You want to believe they are so rich they probably could afford it, but they are usually people in real trouble.  For people who go and spend $50 bucks once in a while, it can be a harmless pasttime, but far too many people take it to the wrong extreme.   In theory, they could be fine, but in practice, the hurt the people who can least afford it.

  5. I've had a few problems with it in the past, but do it in moderation now.

I can see how some people can get totally fixed and even from a young age of around 16, me and my friends would spend most or all of our pocket money on bandits and fruit machines.

  6. It's okay in moderation, ya know, like for fun, but if it starts interfering with the money you desperately need (eg to buy food) its too far (TIME TO STOP!!!)

  7. It can be, but one must know his or her limitations.

  8. It's not that big a problem since there are only a few places in the USA where you can actually gamble.

It's just too bad that more states don't follow Nevada's example.   I mean look at how much revenue that state produces from such a small population.  (No Sales tax! wow!)

I think if California had more non-Indian gambling, there might be a whole lot more money to fix this bankrupt state!

  9. im all for it but blow up the pokies...
