  1. Global warming is  real and has been documented with ice cores dating back tens of thousands of years.

What is NOT real is the quackery that humans caused (or can even affect) global warming.

The scare tactics being perpetrated upon us are only a money/power grab scheme by bottom-feeder politicians accompanied by their so-easily-led sheeple who take their prattle, even their movies, as hard science

    .

To find that my statement above is true, follow the money. See just who it is who will profit from the carbon offset, carbon tax, & etc.

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.

The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.

This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.

Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is

becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).

As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).

When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.

As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

    Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':

    Humans did not cause it.

    Humans cannot stop it.

  2. IMHO and from what I was taught at school.  We as the human race do not know enough facts about the earth to make such allegations.  We know that once the earth was covered in ice, we know that the continents were joined together. We know the dinosaur's disappeared. We do know that the earth has been through this before.  But there is lots we dont know and will never know.

Maybe global warming as we call it, is the end of an ice age, and thats why we are getting warmer and the polar ice caps melting.  It is just the earth going through its normal cycle like all the other planets out there.  20 odd years ago they predicted we were going back into an ice age!  Just because these people are supposed to be intelligent, does not mean they are right.  But then again, theres money to be made, and that makes the world go round??

  3. Real, mostly caused by us.  Here's why.

    The scientific data is overwhelming.

Every major scientific organization has issued an official statement that it's real, and mostly caused by us.

Most every leader of a Western democracy agrees.  They don't take their scientific advice from Al Gore.

The Pentagon, and the National Intelligence Agencies have issued reports saying that this is real, and a serious threat.  Not exactly part of the "liberal conspiracy".

The Supreme Court has decided CO2 IS a pollutant.

    Many Conservatives agree.

We ought to be making a major effort to reduce greenhouse gases by building nuclear, wind, and solar power plants; and vehicles that run on electricity/hydrogen made there.  As a fringe benefit we'll reduce our dependence on unstable and expensive oil; and stop making countries that don't like us very rich.

  4. I believe Global warming happens, but i don't believe man is the cause of it, and i don't believe it is happening now, the temp was static for 10 yrs or so and has now started to cool but C02 is still rising. I DO believe we should do our best to be as green as possible as the pollution we create isn't good for out health. I also strongly believe we could be heading into a period of cooling, and instead of blaming us and taxing us for something we haven't done, the Gov should be telling us how to prepare for what may happen. Man is no where near big enough to change the worlds climate, Nature rules the earth, is much stronger than man and totally unpredictable.

Edit - you should look at this http://www.livescience.com/environment/0...

  5. AGW is a political issue not a scientific one and is intended to keep the current mass-market energy suppliers on the top of the heap and prevent independent competitors from usurping their control of energy production and distribution. So far the only alternative fuel that has come to market is corn based ethanol and it is driving the cost of any food made with grain up as fast as oil. There are very few options out there right now for consumers to get away from the control of the big boys.

Example, look at what you are paying across the board for every kind of energy compared to what it cost before they came up with the con. What would I do, cut all of my energy use to the minimum possible and shift some of it to solar or wind generation of your own grid linked but with some battery capacity in case of brown/black outs normal or rotating.

Read Farnhams freehold by Robert Heinlein!

  6. I am a biologist working in nature conservation. I went to Antarctica 5 years ago, where the scientists working down there told me that the continent is getting colder and the ice is increasing. The only part that is loosing ice is the peninsular, and that is due to erosion from sea currents. At the same time the mainstream media were full of doomsday stories about how the ice caps are melting and we are all going to drown. I think that the scientists are a more reliable source of information than politicians and journalists.

I now think that the role of carbon dioxide in our climate and the contribution of human activity to it has been grossly exaggerated, it is a factor, but only one in many.

Carbon dioxide is NOT pollution, it is a natural and vital component of our atmosphere. Without it there would be no photosynthesis, therefore no plants and no food. Since all the oxygen in our atmosphere comes as as a byproduct of photosynthesis, there would be nothing for us to breathe either.  CO2 is the critical rate limiting factor in photosynthesis, so extra CO2 makes plants grow stronger, giving us a greener world

  7. ITS A REAL  JOKE PLEASE GIVE ME A  BREAK GLOBAL WARMING LOL LOL LOL THE EARTH HAS WENT THROUGH WARMING AND COOLING PHASES FOR YEARS ACORDING TO THE SAME  LIBERAS IN THE 1970 AND THAT WAS WE WILL WILL BE IN AN ICE AGE IN THE NEXT 25 YEARS.   DRIVE YOUR HUMMER AND DRILL THE WORKS OUT OF THE USA WE HAVE ENOUGH OIL TO LAST US 175 YEARS WITH OUT FORIN OIL GO TO DRILL HERE DRILL NOW AND LETS GET STARTED

  8. Its a CYCLE

  9. I believe ...it's God's plan.

  10. Its all cyclical, we go through periods of exreme warmth, drought and cold etc.  Don't suppose we are helping in reducing the cycle, but hey, we get good tans, no longer have hose pipe bans and the economy makes a good living out of the scaremongering.

Oh well, lets burn some more fuel, so I can continue to use this electircal appliance.

  11. I haven't seen or heard of any reason, personally, to get me to believe in agw.  But I have seen lots of evideice that it isn't.  Maybe that's what being a skeptic is...it takes more than Al Gore and the IPPC to convince me.

  12. We are using up way too much fossil fuels in the way of coal & oil, we need to plan for sustainable living but bio fuels are not the answer.  Half the world is starving for the want of wheat and corn now? Its not an easy balance.  Grow your own food, raise hens if you can, don't fly on unnecessary trips or buy textiles from half way around the world.

Ladies just have 4 pairs of shoes and 2 handbags (I'm a female of the species) Recycle all you can. Buying local is good.

  13. I once read in a book on the subject of global warming that the      melting of the ice cap at the north pole could cause such a large amount of cold water that it may cause the gulf stream to stop and this would start an ice age in europe

  14. It's a crock of excrement.

We don't teach kids science in our schools anymore, or they would be able to ask (and answer for themselves) questions that would lead them to have extreme doubt of the whole theory.

For example, if you were thinking you would think to answer questions like these....

How much does the atmosphere weigh? How much CO2 do we produce? (what's the ratio?) How much plant matter is there that absorbs CO2? Is there CO2 in the oceans? Do the oceans release or absorb CO2, or do they maintain a balance? Does atmospheric CO2 increase before or after the atmosphere warms up? What is the temperature of the earth today? What was the temperature of the earth yesterday? ( I dare you to try to figure out what the temperature of the earth is on any particular day....)

Anyone who's SURE that the earth is warming up because of people, doesn't think too much or too hard.

  15. Declare 'bottom burping' illegal - especially after a chicken vindaloo!

  16. i think it just is part of the earth's weather patterns. it gets cold, then now it gets warmer. i think it might eventually get colder.

  17. I think it's a false way to address a very real problem. The problem... Wastefulness. It's just downright wrong to be as wasteful as we have been, while many many people in the world don't even have clean drinking water.

Do the ends justify the means? I don't think anything good can come from a lie. Everything must be built on a good foundation.

It takes little more than common-sense to realize that the AGW theory is based far more on politics than on science.

The science is way to young to be followed with the religious fervor it now enjoys. Further, the science makes claims that it understands something so impossibly complex. Right now meteorologists can't tell us with any accuracy what the weather will do in 3 days from now. AGW proponents will say "that's different, that's weather not climate." I'd say there are many similarities since ultimately, weather makes up a climate. What is starkly different though, is that there's a heck of a lot more variables involved in predicting climate, many of which the climatologists have little understanding.

On top of this, history tells us the earth has warmed and cooled many times without the help of man-kind.

Now all of a sudden we're controlling the climate? Don't be dazzled with all the supposed science. There is a lot to be said for common-sense.

  18. Several months ago, NASA stated that the mean temperature on Mars had increased. In other words, Martian global warming. Since there are no cars or factories on Mars (that we know of) we can conclude that global warming occurs naturally. Take that Al Gore!

  19. I believe in Global Warming 100% and I think that we as humans are affecting it gravely. Its all the Co2 in the air that we need to worry about, and we are the ones causing it with pollution from transportation and big industries. There is always a chance that it's not real, but if we don't even try to reverse the effects than we will be sorry for it later because it could end up changing our world forever. Think about future generations. What if they don't have the chance to live because we have been so selfish in our time? We take everything foregranted.

The polar ice caps are melting due to the amount of Co2 in the air and the warmer oceans, and if we don't die because of a flood we will surely die from an ice age or a storm or the hot weather etc.

I personally believe the environment should be on everybodies minds and it should be our top priority and that everyone should sign Kyoto!

  20. see the gasses like carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide and ozone are present in the atmosphere.these gasses act like a glass not allowing the heat recieved from the sum by the earth to b reflected back into space..........they r harmful as they filter dangerous radiations from the sun.due to this the temperature of the earth increases and these gasses act like an insulating blanket keeping the earth warm..when these gasses r present in the right proportion they r beneficial....however a disturbance or increase in any of these gasses due to pollution and other factors cause warming of the atmosphere called as global warming.

my opinion is that if this continues it will b very harmful to life on earth ........the glaciers will melt, sumerging the coastal areas.thus we should try to control pollution.

  21. I think it is the biggest load of poo! lol

The sun has no sunspots, and hasn't for a month or two, which means that the worlds temperature is rising but the world needs to heat up before it cools down. Scientists think that in about 30 years there will be another ice age, so then we will all have to move down south to Africa and so on, they find remains of animals and humans there all the time which means that in the last ice age animals and human had to go there too. I think that global warming has nothing to do with pollution and all that, it is to do with nature and its just the way the world is changing, although, saying that pollution probably doesn't help but it doesn't make a big difference. People are saying that the ice caps are melting, that is just nature aswell, what is stopping the ice caps from becoming ice again? I dont know what all the fuss is about really.

Thats my point of view.. im only 13 xD but i honestly think that its just the world changing ^^

  22. Thoughts of global warming are irreIIavent to the facts. Most of us are ignorant to the facts. The facts are that manmade pollutents have and still are creating a sphere around the earth that stops the heat from the sun escaping like it used to.In fact an unpenertratable barrier that converts the earth into a giant greenhouse.Regardless of what our thoughts are we,re in trouble bruv.If anybody knows how to address it,please hurry.

  23. it's a hoax people making money on all these studies and not to mention Al Gore if he was so concerned he would not live in a house large enough to fit three families he just wants to sell a book

  24. I think global warming is something which is naturally going on but the effects of humans are accellerating it and we should definately cut down on energy because it can only bring good, even if we are not effecting the environment. (which we have to be doing at least a bit)  Also with cars we may aswell find another fuel because fossil fuels are definately bad because they are polluting, going to run out soon, thay give some dangerous countries power and there are many other reasons. I think we are definately not helping the environment and cutting on our carbon footprint can only bring good for many reasons

  25. facts are, geology shows us the temperature has always risen and fallen over the life of the planet, natural phenomena e,g, the gulf stream (atlantic conveyor) has stopped and started many times in its history, mankind can only have a very marginal effect on the forces that are currently warming us up.

  26. i say maybe its the way it is suppose to go, ice age etc now global warming..

  27. Hmm... Its a lie, Al Gore is Satan incarnate, humans only produce about 3% of CO2 every year, CO2 levels in the atmoshpere are 0.036%(36 parts per 10000), people who believe in Global Warming should be institutionalized, Global warming nutjobs expel more CO2 spewing their hot air about this BS theory than everyone else COMBINED!

Oh yeah, and its propogated by anti-capitalists and socialists.

  28. I think Al Gore wanted to make a huge statement about the way we are ruining our environment with our greedy actions so he found a scientificly proven situation called global warming to base his crusade on. To me Al is a true hero for sticking his neck out there and speaking up about it only to be slapped around by ignorant, stubborn, greedy, uncaring, evil, greedy, scared, power hungry, unspiritual, negative, greedy people. Making sacrifices is probably one the hardest things for humans to wrap their heads around but the only way any real progress can be made in any relationship including our relatoinship with our ecosystem. So for me Global warming is a scarey thought but a powerful motivator to make me look at what I can do to keep the balance of give and take that is part of living on this planet.

  29. Being 21 with 11 years experience.  I would say yes.  When I was younger I recall seeing many butterflies around.  These little wonders are easily harmed by man's damaging habits.  I watched the show with Al Gore as well, I agree with what he is saying, and you can tell by his presentation that he is genuine in his concern.  It's all about doing the right thing.  I know that it use to snow in San Antonio seldom but it happened.  I don't think it hardly even hits the freezing point now during daylight hours.

Many things that happen are for a reason hopefully people can figure out a way to live in harmony with nature.  If not the earth will cleanse itself of what ever is harming it.   Its a cause and effect, but can humans adopt something to prevent this or not?

  30. I think it's going to take effect pretty soon, and it can't be stopped unless enough people around the world are interested in preserving earth. Of course, that's not the case right now. A lot of scientists have tried to figure out ways to stop it, like building a forest of mechanical trees that suck in carbon dioxide, and a whole bunch of dumb stuff. Right now we are starting to see big changes in the climate already. Honestly, I think it's all up to God and what His plan is for the world.

    * BTW there is alternative fuel made of sugar cane, too. It was discovered in south America.

  31. It's an interesting but unproven theory and the more I look into it, the more I read up on it, the more questions I have than answers.

Most of the people now telling us that "it's really climate change, it's really not about the whole planet heating up, it means more 'weird weather'" did in fact tell us, from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s, that in fact it was about the whole planet heating up - that "the planet" had "a fever."    Only when it was clear that the actual increase in temperatures had leveled off and had given way to what is possibly more volatile weather did they say change the main thrust of their predictions from "global warming" to "climate change."

There are too many contradictions, too many story-line changes, too many exaggerations, and too many mis-statements or out and out lies.

The theory isn't that the CO2 alone will increase the temperatures to dangerous levels - the dangerous levels prediction is based on a positive feedback from the release of methane that would result from the initial warming.

But, it's been slightly warmer, and it's been almost as warm, for centuries at a time, when CO2 levels were lower, and the methane release didn't happen, the warm period gave way to a cool period, and everything was just fine.

That doesn't mean it CAN'T happen the way they predict it will - but certainly that's not the most likely scenario.
