I would love to hear what scientists have learned or think about Orbs. There is much information and pictures on the web, with varying reports, and I'm interested to hear what you think.

  1. Orbs have a natural explanation. The paranormal investigator above knows as much.If you are looking for a reason to believe in ghosts. You'll have to find something else. Here's some information if you're interested.

  2. So called "orbs" have been soundly debunked as mere reflections of camera flash off dust particles.

Remember Occam's razor -- there is no need to propose wild outlandish explanations (e.g., ghost "energy") when a very likely, simple explanation is available. Continuing to insist that even some "orbs" are spirits is like continuing to insist that some crop circles are made by aliens. Believe it or not, some people still think they are, even though it's been demonstrated over and over again how easy it is for a few people to make the intricate designs in a short period of time.

  3. I have actually seen little floating pacman things in the air when the light are off and i think that these are orbs. I always thought of them as spirit energy.

  4. Orbs are angels.

    Or specs of dust.

    One of the two.

  5. Orbs are really hard to distinguish. they could be anything like dust or rain. Do not believe all the pictures that you see on the net a lot of them are dust and they tend to say that they are spirits when they are really nothing.

  6. Paranormal Investigators do not believe orbs are ghost or spirits and no real investigator would even consider a spot on a photo or video be considered a ghost.

Orbs seen with the naked eye are not even look at as ghost but balls of energy. grant you no one knows what causes these to show up and knowing no one can create a real orb except for a photo they are considered not normal. But no evidence has ever supported these orbs are haunting or harmful in anyway.

  7. According to mu knowledge, orbs are energy vibration from ghosts around us. Most often, we notice orbs on some pictures.

  8. I usually think they're fake. It's like dust on the lens or lens glare on the camera. Maybe someone put them in using special effects.

  9. I believe that are the real.  I have experienced orbs in my pictures after deaths of cetain loved ones, and in my home.  I have several spirits that are in my home and on any given occassion I can catch the in a picture.  At my sisters and my weddings we had orbs show up beside us and during the ceremony.  My Dad has always said he would be at our weddings, my Dad had been dead 5 years at the time of our weddings.  There were orbs at my Moms memorial service.  And we have had orbs appear in our Christmas pictures, this is the only time our family got together.

  10. Without question orbs are dust. If you don't believe me try shading the lens of your camera from the flash and take a picture. I have a lens hood on my camera and can not pick up orbs if I wanted to.

The flash illuminates peices of dust very close to the lens. Orbs started becoming a problem when point and shoot cameras moved the flash very close to the lens.

If you have an SLR camera with a lens hood, the flash can not illuminate this dust and orbs do not show up.

You will never find an orb picture online or anywhere that has been taken without a flash or a strong backlight at an angle that would illuminate the orbs, and you will never find on from a camera with a lens hood.

  11. All orbs are not spirits, just as all orbs are not dust, bugs, whatever. If the body is made of energy, and energy can change states, why can't the spirit (energy) change into an orb? You can't learn anything with a completely closed mind.

  12. Most paranormal investigators do believe the energy of spirits come in an orb form. A good investigator will ask questions about the area the orb was snapped in. Not every picture with an orb is a spirit orb. You have to take into account dust, dewdrops, moisture in the air, etc.

Some people can see orbs with their natural eye. They will see different shapes, sizes & colors. They know it isn't the floaters they have in their eyes. Why some can see orbs or spirits and some don't? Why can some people sing and others can't carry a tune?

  13. The problem with Occam's razor is that because the earth looks flat doesn't mean it is. The same goes for orbs. While I investigate the paranormal, most of the orbs that used to be thought of as ghost or energy orbs have been discovered to be tiny water droplets that are illuminated by flash. I've done experiments with these and unfortunately were able to get what most people call ghost orbs. However, that doesn't mean that ghosts aren't real or that paranormal activity doesn't exsist. Just means that orbs aren't what we originally thought. :-)

  14. i get them all the time on my digital and regular camera not sure what they are

  15. Okay, I'm a scientist (really).  So, here goes: Many orbs turn out to be photographic aberrations, dust, tricks of light,  and such.  Nothing special there.

The fact is, Eastman-Kodak, Fuji Film, etc., have known about "orbs" for a long, long time.  I read an internal memo not long ago by a Fuji Film researcher who explained that they had successfully RECREATED the orb phenomenon over and over in their labs!  Turns out that these orbs, which on video are seen to move around (they're very animated), are the result of static electric build-ups on either film, or CCDs (like in digital cameras).

For these companies, orbs are a problem to solve--not a mystery from the great beyond.  It seems that the origin of these, oddly enough, is the fabric of the cases in which people carry their cameras.  They rub around in there, and build up charges which manage to end up on the CCDs / film.  As the orbs slide around they transfer their energy to the propagating medium and eventually vanish.

Kinda dull, huh?  I'd much rather they be something more mysterious, but well, that's science for ya.  On a similar note, there are some giant orbs--sort of--here in Texas, that have yet to be definitively explained.  There are some explanations, but no "final word" has yet been accepted.  They're called the "Marfa Lights" and there's lot of info onthe web about them.

    Happy hunting!

  16. Scientists are not concerned with orbs they are concerned with science. the paranormal field is full of amatuers who claim to be professional parapsychologists, but a little research will find they are just hobbyiests doing this on the side. They aree mainly just ghost clubs with fancy names like center for paranormal research.

Follow th link to read about the theory of orbs by the people who coined the word. Most orbs found on most websites are merely dust particles, or rain or snow . There are paranormal orbs however, but they are much different than any normal anomaly. True paranormal orbs will be lik light balls, sometimes will have a contrail if in motion and can cast a shadow.

  17. orbs are balls of energy, but im not convinced theyre ghosts... although, i recently saw a pic of one, where the orb had a distinct face to it...

  18. i have a green one

  19. Mostly chomatic aberations.
