What are your thoughts on abortion?

So I knocked up the gf and we were thinking about getting rid of it. What are some of your opinions?

Hello abortion is legal. I am for abortion for many different reasons and even though i haven't had one if i did want one then i would not care what people think/thought.

I would have an abortion for the following reasons:

1)If i were raped

2)If the fetus had something horribly wrong with it and would only suffer a horrible life.

3)If my life were in danger and i was told i would die if i followed through with the pregnancy then i would abort because i would not want to leave my son motherless.

4)If i did not or could not handle another kid.

Why not leave both options up and start talking about giving it up for adoption. You never know, maybe after a few months you'll both decide that having a baby is a wonderful thing and keep it.. and if not, you can bring joy into someone else's life.  That's a win-win in my book.

In my opinion, I think that a human life is created at the moment of conception. I will not argue that point. I am however, pro-choice. ( I AM ALSO VERY MUCH ANTI-ADOPTION, but that is another discussion for another time). The way I look at it is lets say that a person with a rare blood disorder also has a very rare blood type, and they need to be hooked up to someone for 9 months. After 9 months they will be cured forever. The only person with a compatible blood type in the world is you. So in the middle of the night the sick persons family comes and kidnaps you. I don't think that it is your responsibility to save this person by giving your body to them. I think it is WONDERFUL if you do, but you should not be made to, or looked down upon if you choose not to.

I do consider myself to be pro-choice (bring on the thumbs down!) but I would never, ever consider it for myself. AND I wish that more people would consider adoption instead. I also don't deny many of the arguments that pro-lifers give.

The reason I am pro-choice is because I believe if abortions were made illegal, there would be a lot more "back alley", unsafe abortions performed. Also, there are many situations that people consider to be an "exception" to their pro-choice views (rape, incest), and they would want abortion to be legal IN THOSE CASES. The problem is that I believe many women would then be claiming they were raped, even if they were not, just to get the abortion. Just what we need - our prisons filled with falsely accused men and our tax dollars going to keep those innocent men in prison while real criminals go free.

Not to mention I don't like the basic principle of the government controlling what happens within a woman's uterus.

But like I said - I would never do it myself. I am NOT "pro-abortion"! I am pro-CHOICE, and there is a difference. But please, make an informed and well thought out decision. STRONGLY consider the possibility of adoption first, if you absolutely cannot imagine keeping it yourselves.

It is not this unborn child's fault that you were irresponsible. Not to be rude, but it's true.

I think abortion is horrible. Would you want to die just because your parents didn't want you? If anything you should just have the baby and put it up for adoption, you never kno you may want to keep the child.

I think that if you were man/woman enough to lay down and get pregnant, you should be man/woman enough to stand up and take care of your responsibilities! I don't believe in killing anything that has a heartbeat.

It's easy to say that if you were "mature" enough to have s*x then you should be "mature" enough to have the baby if you get pregnant. But what about those women that have been raped? Well s*x wasn't their choice. It was probably that or their life. But when they find out they are pregnant then what? Some people say it is punishment to "make" the woman keep the baby. I feel that These issues arise because people didn't listen to what God said in the first place. Save s*x for marriage. Yes women still get raped, but maybe there would be less of it if people respected the whole idea of giving your body to someone else. Maybe if kids where more educated on why they should wait and if they decide not to what options are outside of abortion. Many women who decide on it are shocked at what really happens when they go to have the baby taken out of their body. And those that go through with abortion have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

I feel that we should look at the positive aspects of having a baby and not the dreadful ones. It won't ruin your life. You will just have a new one. What if you had been aborted? Or your sibling? Your best friend?

Everyone knows that if you have s*x, theres a chance of having a baby!! So, since you 2 did the crime, now do the time! I think abortion should never even be an option! And even if you don't feel like you could support the baby, give it to someone who can! There are soooo many ppl in the world that can't have children that would die for the opportunity to even fall pregnant and have a child of their own. So don't be so selfish!!!
