What are your thoughts on global warming?

how do you feel about this issue? Global warming!!! Please give your honest thoughts, as i am writing about it for school and would love to quote your thoughts. Best answer will go to what i feel is the most thought out and informative, as this is opinion based, it doesnt just have one answer. Thanks! :-)

When I first heard of global warming...I went nuts. I went around the house replacing the light bulbs with fluorescent light bulbs. Lol. I was obsessed.

Now, that I see how cold it was this winter. I live in Arizona...it being cold here is a big deal. (: I know that it was most likely because alot of people decreased their daily impact.

I'm not one to litter. And I hate it when people do it in front of me. We should show our planet respect. The same rules apply outside of your home. Do you throw your trash on the floor when you're in your house? I hope not.

Well, people should keep global warming in mind. We still have alot of things to worry about. Example...the polar bears.

Since the seventies, temperatures have gone up again, and the tiny decrease in temperatures since WW II has now been replaced with an equally tiny increase in (nighttime) global temps. (about 0.065 degrees Celsius, according to measurements by Tiros II, a temperature-measuring satellite). So what happens? The doom and gloom about another ice age are replaced with doom and gloom about global warming! They're BOTH a crock.

I think that mainly it is hype. A way to scare good and well intentioned people into paying new taxes and government programs. The earth has been around for billions of years and we have been recording weather for only 1 to 200 years tops. You cant even calculate that into a useable percent. Even if you put it up against the last 10k years it doesnt tell you anything. I think global warming is going to be the next  dot com phase to hit the stock market. Now dont get me wrong, being wasteful is arrogant and recycling is a good thing that benefits everybody, looking out for "Mother Earth" is a noble cause championed by a great many, But I dont believe that we are causing "Global Warming". It is a Liberal idea that only remains a topic because your AFRAID it might be true.

I believe it's actually happening that it will be a problem if we don't do anything....I believe that it is more ethical and courteous to live the "green" lifestyle, including alternative fuels, organic materials and nutrition, reusing, recycling, more efficient appliances..etc.

However, I don't believe ALL of the claims of environmentalists.

I think most of the claims we hear are for political reasons, hyperboles, or overreactions.....I don't like it when someone makes an apocalypse out of it......

Overall, I think we should be as environmental as possible but not as to really hurt the economy or place a burden on other people. I think we should promote the living, but not requiring it.....Everyone should have free speech and no one should be discriminated for their views for whatever side

"Your foolishness will go home to your body"...goes one saying.. Global Warming is greatly contributed by the damage on the ozone layer caused by the irresponsibility and negligence of humanity to care for its environment. Now, we are gradually reaping what we have sown. Education on proper waste disposal should have started many many years ago, maybe we could have skipped this phenomena. What we will become in the future is the fruit of what we are today. But I guess it's not yet too late to discipline ourselves and start caring for the world we live in. Everybody should take part and do his share, be it big or small, for the good of all mankind and the generations ahead. Let's do our share. Together, we can make it!

I have not personally seen any evidence of global warming. It is no warmer in Medford Oregon than it was 18 years ago. So, based on that I see no reason to worry about the globe heating up. A lot of panic lovers will just love to bash me and call me an ignorant dummy for saying that.

If global warming is real (and I certainly hope it is!) than I have nothing to worry about. So what if some species go extinct? That's called survival of the fittest. The planet is too cold anyway.

Man-made global is hoax. To believe that a minor green-house gas is responsible for heating the planet, through some bogus looking graphs, is insane. One that looks like a hockey stick and the other like something out of a grade B movie, or a slide show from a high school student who wants to get a good grade.

The hockey stick graph was discovered to be a bogus programming error, and the other has the relationships of temperature and CO2 backwards. A comedy of errors as the crux of its proof, is laughable.

The predictions of rising waters have not happened, and the temperatures for 2008 were recorded as the lowest temperatures of the century. As a result the icecaps have expanded, not contracted as predicted by Gore. The temperature of the stratosphere shows no appreciable increase in temperature at the 10k level as predicted by the global warming theory.

Many scientists have abandoned the Global Warming Theory in recent years, but are still listed as one the 2,500, that the IPPC insists support it.

The people who work in the field of global warming are in it for the money, not for the science. The consist of scientists, journalists, politicians, business marketing schemes want their companies to draw good will from the believers, TV networks and executives, have all signed on but I don’t think they all believe it.

I believe that some of it may be happening.  The ice caps are melting and recently a huge chunk of ice, about 7 times the size of Manhattan, fell off of Antarctica and that caused a lot of concern.  Also, our climate is changing.  Our planet is in the middle of a warming trend, so I say global warming is evident.

Global warming is a natural phenomenon. Why and How.

You can have many control measures but you cannot stop. In another few thousands of years there wont be any human or any living being in the earth. Some animals like dinosaurs were extinct because of the this change. The environmentalist have estimated many species of animals are in danger. It is true. But we should know that human are also in danger!!!. You and me cannot stop. For example take energy sources like coal. The emitance of coal decay the environment. Without coal power you cannot live. If you read Michael Crichton's book, State of Fear, and then read all the hundreds of articles that he used for his research, you will realize that global warming has been happening for thousands of years, and the "crisis" has been invented by our media/government.  Global warming is indeed happening, but at such a slow rate, that the Earth won't be in danger for another few millenia.  As a people, we are easier to control/govern and don't act out as much if we're scared of something, so global warming is the current scare tactic...including the war in Iraq (in which many less deaths are happening than have happened in every single previous war we've been involved in), terrorism (U.S. has never been more safe)...etc.  Michael Crichton's book is a must-read; even though it's a fiction novel, it's based on a court case that really did happen, and when you flip to the back of it, you'll see all the incredible research he did to support all of his facts.  Americans should get informed before believing everything the media is touting at us!

i think about global warming and a thing  that has happend about all of the pollution and things that people should care about the enviorment more and there is so much of the enviorment in the world that has beens killed and choped of because of people not recycling and taking care of mother earth.

well just to make this story not to keep on going people should care about this because lots of animals are being extincted.
